What is a bitter and how dangerous is it?

The collection of mushrooms, which is also called "quiet hunting", is one of the most common ways of resting the population of our country. By the way, only we are engaged in this so actively. In the forests of Hungary and Germany, the fungi are slightly smaller, but the local inhabitants practically do not collect them.

This is largely due to the fear of poisoning. Unfortunately, sometimes this possibility is quite real. Do you know what is a bitter? And in fact it is known to skilled mushroom pickers under the name "bilious" mushroom, being enough poisonous. In addition, some people know it under the name of "false boletus", since the bitter bitter really looks quite like him.

Where is it common?

Unfortunately, you can meet it practically in any forest on the territory of the former USSR. The vegetation period is from the end of July to the end of October. Dangerous that it grows in groups, why inexperienced mushroom pickers often recruit full baskets of poisonous mushrooms. Prefers to grow on light loamy soils, abundantly fertilized with fallen pine needles.

By the way, what is a bitter, if we talk about its appearance? A distinctive feature in this case is a chunky sturdy leg, filled with fibrous and loose flesh. Outside it is covered by a specific mesh brownish or brownish color.

The hat is almost nothing. However, it can be distinguished by a thin layer of spongy substance from the bottom of the cap. The real fungus has this layer much thicker.

In addition, in older fungi of this species it acquires a rich ocher color, which is not observed in any edible fungus. As gorchak grows older (the photo of which is in the article), from afar it begins to resemble a pillow, as his hat grows to form a real "airfield".

The inner side of the hat and the leg itself are distinguished by a slight pink tinge. On the cut, the flesh is also pinkish, quickly becoming brown in the air.

There is one way by which you can pinpoint the bitter: its flesh is terribly bitter. Putting even the smallest bit on the tongue, you will feel unbearable bitterness, which gradually turns into a burning sensation.

In general, the bitter-mushroom is very attractive. It is neat, even and absolutely perfect, since it is never affected by mushroom flies. An inexperienced mushroom picker can make sure of the rightness of insects: even one bitter, caught in a frying pan with fried mushrooms, inevitably spoils their taste.

Despite the once misleading, this bitterness can not be corrected by any culinary treatment.

What is dangerous?

Asking the question about what is a bitter, one can not fail to mention its danger. Unfortunately, a spoiled dish is the smallest of those problems that can expect you. Physicians accurately call it "liver fungus", because the toxins contained in it lead to irreversible violations of liver function.

In fairness, it must be said that cases of poisoning are extremely rare. Ironically, but with a long cooking process, bitterness only increases, so it's hard to imagine a person who will voluntarily eat such a dish.

Thus, this fungus is poisonous, but it is not necessary to talk about a real danger. That's what the bitterness is!
