We sew curtains: how to install eyelets with our own hands

It seems that it is difficult and even almost impossible to install eyelets with your own hands. Especially if it's a woman. After all, when installing eyelets, some hammers, some punches, and some other tools are often used. How to manage this woman and not to damage the manicure?

But there is nothing impossible for a person with intelligence and properly positioned hands! Even if the first is safely hidden under a blond hairdo, and the latter is decorated with a compound manicure.

Hammers and piercers are not always needed!

Who in the subject, he can think: "How can I do without a hammer? Without a pier, how to install the eyelets?" But without them you can safely do without. Especially if you need to hang curtains with eyelets. The thing is that when hanging curtains these elegant rings play the role of loops for stringing the canvas on the cornice. And they usually have a rather large diameter. On the other hand, the curtain fabric or fabric for curtains is usually very or moderately thin, so they are not punched with a special punch like jeans or leather, for which, in fact, the invented elements were invented. They can be cut with scissors. Therefore, if you already have eyelets, installing them will take a little time.

So, we sew the curtain on the eyelets

For tailoring you will need:

1. Actually cloth for curtains. Traditionally, the required amount of cloth is calculated by the formula: the working length of the cornice, multiplied by 2.5. The height, naturally, is determined by the height from the floor to the eaves plus 10-20 cm (depending on the diameter of the rings) on the hem at the top and 5-10 cm at the bottom.
2. A non-woven strip of length equal to the width of the fabric purchased, and a width that coincides with the height of the upper fold.
3. Eyelets. Their diameter should be slightly larger than the diameter of the cornice (the cornice is, of course, only round). The number of eyelets is only an even number, the more accurate number is determined exclusively by experiment: the more of them, the shallower the crease on the curtain and, conversely, vice versa.
4. Any tailoring tool, including scissors.

Eyelets with their own hands - it's easy

First, you need to sew your curtain: cut off the necessary amount of material, bend it from above, laying the fleece, and if necessary, process the edges, which will be vertical. Be sure to iron the most hot for this fabric iron. Further it is necessary to accurately calculate the location of each ring with the help of counting-measuring instruments of the tailor, in order that the eyelets with their own hands be made neatly.

You can do the following:

• Chalk the horizontal line at a distance of 3-4 cm from the top edge (these centimeters are a must). At the end of the work, the remaining edge forms a beautiful "scallop".
• Mark the future location of the eyelets on the line drawn.
• Expand the ringlets under the hints and circle them inside.
• Remove them and gently cut the round holes with scissors.
• For each of them, the lower part of the eyelet is placed, the upper one is superimposed and snaps into place.

That's all - you installed the eyelets with your own hands. It remains only to hang ready curtains and neatly spread them beautiful folds.
