Age qualification is the basis of morality and legality

Modern society is so free in its choice that it needs constant restrictions, however paradoxical it may be. One of the main and most gentle types of restrictions is the age qualification. This is the age limit specified by law and other acts for the performance of certain actions.

Goals and objectives of the qualifications

It should be understood that for the performance of certain actions, especially in the legal field, the full capacity of the citizen is required or at least that he understands what is going on. Thus, the age qualification is a kind of additional security measure for this citizen in the first place (so that he does not harm himself), and also to protect public and state interests. Of course, all the qualifications are too objective, and it is by no means a fact that at the age of 18 the person was sufficiently formed to dispose of the right of the political voice or in general by his actions as a whole. Nevertheless, their definition is necessary for the normal functioning of the state.

Significance of the qualification for elections

Imagine that you are going to participate in presidential elections, and with you, 5-year-old children are in charge of their voting rights . They have not yet formed a worldview, they are far from politics (fortunately) and this is far from the choice that a child can make. To prevent such a thing from happening in nature, an age-specific election qualification operates on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to him, to participate in the voting when choosing local government, federal government and presidential elections of the Russian Federation can only be reached after 18 years. The law also determines that it is sufficient to achieve legal capacity, which can be obtained as early as 16 years with the help of emancipation.

Professional qualification

In our country, there are many professional qualifications, the purpose of which is to prevent persons who, due to their age, do not yet have sufficient experience, to take serious steps to manage society and the state. So, there is an age qualification of the judge, which is subdivided depending on the instance: for a world court or district court it will be sufficient to reach the age of 25 years.

If you want to become a judge of a subject of our vast state, say, a regional or regional court, a court of republics or cities of federal significance, then you will need to wait another 5 years, that is, to become a 30-year-old citizen. We also have the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, which examines the most important public issues, resolves cassation complaints, and, in general, creates practice. The judge of this instance must be 5 years older. Finally, the almighty, but many forgotten Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, for work in which as a judge it is necessary to live another 5 years. This is not to mention other restrictions, which are many.

In politics, there is also an age qualification: this rule for candidates to executive bodies or local self-government bodies, to higher bodies, for example, to become president.

Morality and public order

Regulation of public morality and order is also the task of the age qualification. This is done in the public interest, although someone can assume that the qualification significantly narrows the range of human rights. Let's say that the age limit is set for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. It is quite strictly protected by law, so that even there are a number of sanctions for selling alcohol to minors. This qualification is aimed at establishing and nurturing morals - when the generation grows up, then it will be decided by an adult head whether there is a need for alcohol.

Also in our country, as well as all over the world, there is an age limit of films - from those that can be looked at from birth to those that are not recommended for persons under 21 years of age. However, in this case it is rather a recommendation than the rule - cinemas are obliged to follow it, but online resources can safely show anything.

And is it necessary?

At the moment, practically the whole world lives in democracy, it is proud of it, and some countries even try to dictate it to everyone else. Democracy, in addition to political nuances, assumes a level of development of civilization, when a person himself realizes what acts are harmful to society or the state, what actions can cause damage, which is better to refrain, and what is necessary is simply necessary.

In a utopian understanding in such a state, the possibility of state control and management is reduced to nothing. It only organizes, helps, acts in the international arena. The age limit is the kind of restrictions that are unacceptable for a civilized society, because everyone understands who and what can be offered, who and what can do. However, at the moment most people, unfortunately, have such an important regulator, so its replacement with the state is simply necessary.
