We produce bottles with own hands

Bottles of plastic are accumulated in every family. Most often, their further use is to throw them into a landfill. Not everyone understands that a plastic bottle can become a good raw material for making useful and useful things in the household. It is enough to cut it neatly, and we will get a reliable heat-shrinkable tape. When heated, it melts and becomes very strong. Therefore, it is easy to find an application in the country.

Carefully and quickly cut plastic is impossible only with a knife or scissors. To solve this problem, you can create a special device that is easy to manufacture and operate. About how to make a bottle-cutting machine with their own hands, and will be discussed in the article.

Production features

There are several options for making bottles with your own hands. Their photos say that most of them are almost the same. But there are some fundamental differences. Some options have additional refinements.

As a cutting element, the blade from the clerical knife is most often used. To the tape was even, it should be sharp. The blade is attached to wooden or metal workpieces. Some options include fastening to the base (for example, to the table). Others during the work should be kept in hand.

The easiest way

To produce the simplest version of a bottle-cutter with your own hands, you will need very few materials:

• base;
• Blade (for example, from a clerical knife);
• Several screws;
• A few washers (or nuts).

The manufacturing process will take only a few minutes. As a base, you can use a small piece of the board. In any place (but not at the very edge) a screw is screwed in. On it there should be a nut with several washers. Next to it, one more screw is screwed in the same way with several washers (nut). In this case, the washer (or at least the upper one) should be larger in diameter. This is due to the fact that it will serve as a guide. Nuts do not need to be used. You can just take a few pucks to get a small pile. Between the piles of the washers there should be a distance approximately equal to the thickness of the bottle wall.

Between the washers, which are on different screws, the knife is laid. And the sharp side should be directed to the screws. It is clamped between washers. Depending on their number, under the knife, the thickness of the cut tape will be adjusted.

The bottom is cut from the bottle. The initial incision of the tape is made. The cut off part of the bottle is placed on the knife, so that one of its walls is between the pucks of the washers. With one hand, the bottle is pressed down, and the second pulls the tape.

Wooden device

You can make a bottle-cutter yourself, taking as a basis a small wooden bar. You will also need a stationery knife (its blade), a metal band and several 15 mm long screws.

The bar should fit in the hand (approximately 4.5 x 4.5 x 17 cm). Above the center, the bar is cut down a few centimeters. On the front side, an incision is made approximately to the middle of the thickness of the bar. Both incisions must intersect. In the horizontal, the knife is inserted with the point to the underside of the sidewall. It is fixed there with pieces of metal tape, bolted screws.

The bottom of the bottle is cut. An incision is made to form the beginning of the tape. Next, the bottle is put on the workpiece. The principle of operation and the device are visible in the photo above.

Materials for metal bottle cutters

The following version of the self-made bottle cutter provides for the use of the following materials:

• An aluminum corner;
• Stationery blades;
• Several nuts (washers);
• One nail (200 mm).

In addition to materials, you will need tools: a drill with drills (with diameters of 3 and 6 mm), a bulgarian, a file. Also, sandpaper is useful to clean the hangnails. The resulting metal shavings can be conveniently removed with a brush with metal bristles.

Assembling the structure

Schematic diagram of this device is visible on the drawing. Bottle cutters with their own hands begin to do with the fastening of the knife to the corner. For this, the blade is applied to the corner from the inside. There is a place for the hole through which the fastening will be done, and the length of the knife (to remove the excess part of the corner). A hole in the workpiece (diameter 6 mm) is drilled in the marked area. The extra part of the corner is cut off.

Next to the hole (5 mm away from it), incisions are made at the corner with an interval of 5 mm. Their length should correspond to the desired thickness of the tape. The slots are carefully cleaned from burrs and shavings.

The nail is used as the axis. It makes a thread about 15-20 mm long. The edge of the thread is slightly bent to allow the axis to set the cutting angle of the tape and feed the bottle. The nail with a thread is inserted into the hole prepared at the beginning. Bottle-cutters with their own hands is ready, and it can be used.
