We are going on vacation: the rules of transportation of animals in the train

Existing rules for transportation of animals on the train assume the presence of a special container or bag where your pet can rest on the road. Your task is to pick up a product in advance, suitable for you in all parameters (material, size, pockets and drinkers, disassembly, etc.). Practice shows that the best proved to be collapsible carry, equipped with wheels: in them the animal can calmly turn and even get up, i.e. He will not have to sit in an indestructible position all the way. Transportation of large and aggressive dogs requires the purchase of a whole compartment. However, even in this case, for safety, it is worthwhile to acquire a knowledgeable enclosure that can be quickly installed on the train. The rules of transportation of animals in the train are aimed at ensuring that all other passengers and personnel do not feel any discomfort and can safely move around the car without fear that a particularly aggressive dog will "grab" them at the most inopportune moment.

If the animal is not accustomed to travel, for 2-3 weeks begin to accustom it to the bag or container: put it at home in a safe cozy environment, place your favorite bedding on the bottom, throw a toy or a treat into the bottom.

Be sure to stock up on food for the animal. The best way is for a canned or dry shop feed. If the pet is not used to them, again, 7-10 days before the holiday, start to accustom it to a new diet. To store other products, be sure to buy a refrigerator bag. Also think about when you can walk the animal.

Dogs must necessarily be accustomed to muzzles. The argument "does not bite at all" for guides and supervisors is not a criterion. And in this they are absolutely right. A muzzle for dogs is necessarily included in the rules for transporting animals on the train.

Attention should also be paid to the processing of relevant documents. As for trips within the CIS, here it will be sufficient to have veterinary certificate No. 1, where it will be confirmed that the rabies vaccine was made no later than 1 month before the trip. The vaccination must be formalized. Please note that certificate number 1 is only valid for 3 days, so you need to prepare it immediately before the trip.

Also, the rules of transportation of animals on the train imply the purchase of a separate ticket for the pet. As a rule, its cost is equal to the cost of the luggage space. The weight of the animal is not taken into account.

When traveling outside the CIS, in addition to the above-mentioned documents, the owner will require a license for export (in some cases it can be replaced by the pedigree of the animal). A veterinary certificate number 1 on the day of departure should be exchanged for a veterinary certificate of international standard.

Nevertheless, before the trip, it is worthwhile to consult with the veterinarian in addition to all the necessary documentation - in spite of the fact that the rules for carrying animals on the train in any country necessarily include the presence of your rabies vaccine, in some states there are separate laws on this matter. For example, in many countries the results of an animal's blood test and quarantine (from 3 to 6 months) are required.

Fortunately, many companies encourage pet owners and try to provide them with the most comfortable travel conditions. So do not worry: if you follow all the rules of carrying dogs on a train (like other pets), you will easily survive the journey and will be able to enjoy a 100% vacation!
