The word "Uzorochie" comes from the Old Slavonic language. Our ancestors used in everyday speech a similar noun for decoration and beauty. What is curious, in Russia the ornament is not only forged, jewelry and precious stones, but also various embroideries, and woven tracks for the floor, created by simple masters for decorating peasant huts. The dwelling of ordinary people was simple enough and ordinary, and every mistress tried to decorate her house with her own hands.

Architectural style

Russian uzorochie is an architectural style that has been leading its history since the 17th century. Characteristic features of the direction - a complex shape silhouette, an interesting composition, an abundance of bright colors and rich decor. In this style, churches and cathedrals were built, as well as civilian buildings and personal homes of very wealthy people.

Sometimes the term "Moscow uzorochie" is also used, but it is used to refer to the same style. Historians and architects are still arguing about how this direction was formed. However, it is impossible to recognize it because of the abundance of tents, kokoshniks, carved cornices and platbands on window and door openings, carved posts and columns. At the same time, most of the elements are not functional, they are exclusively decorative. The rows of kokoshniks on the facades of churches symbolize the fiery heavenly powers. Under the domes, the drums are deaf, exclusively emphasizing the size of the tents. Additional domes and canopies were built over the terraces and entrances also exclusively for beauty.

In what situations is it appropriate to use this word in everyday speech? In its direct meaning, it is rather obsolete. It is appropriate to use it in texts stylized as Old Russian or in thematic historical reports. At the same time, in our everyday vocabulary the word "Uzorochie" remains as the name of the architectural style, accordingly, it is considered irrelevant and out of date inappropriate.
