It is interesting that practically all parts of the plant are used for food, starting from leaves and ending with seeds. In addition, people who care about their figure, can diversify their menu with this product, without fear that they will gain excess weight. Despite the fact that there are a huge number of dishes, in which one of the ingredients is celery, how to cook, it still raises several questions.

Celery leaves, as well as the root, are used as a seasoning for main courses, its seeds are added to canned vegetables for flavor and spicy taste. But most often you can find in the sale of petioles of this plant. They perfectly match to taste practically with any vegetables, meat, seafood, fish. But often celery, both root and petiolate, can be an independent full-fledged dish.

For example, you can cook fried celery. This recipe does not require a lot of ingredients and time spent on cooking. The tuber of this vegetable is peeled off and cut with straw or thin plates, folds into dishes, sprinkled with lemon juice; Add a little soy sauce and left for a while. After that, take each slice, crumble in flour and fry over medium heat in a frying pan until a golden crust is formed. This dish can be an excellent side dish to meat or fish, and can be used separately.

This vegetable is cooked quite simply. Before cooking celery, the root of the plant is cleaned, cut into small cubes and thrown into boiling water. Talking about how much to cook celery, it should be noted that the time can be different, depending on how small the vegetable is cut or other qualities. But usually it does not take more than 20 minutes, roughly, like cooking potatoes. By the way, these two roots can be welded together, and then turned into mashed potatoes. The taste of this puree will be more saturated than that of ordinary potato, and vitamins and nutrients in the dish will become much more. You can also bake these vegetables in the oven, cut into strips, seasoning them with chopped garlic and adding the onion cut into rings.

Despite the fact that there are a lot of recipes where celery is stewed, cooked or fried, the best option is to eat it raw, as an additive to salad. For example, the root vegetable is rubbed, mixed with a crushed apple, and dressed with mayonnaise. Sheet celery will be well combined with a normal vegetable salad, consisting of cucumbers and tomatoes.

It should be noted that this vegetable is also used for cooking first courses. It can be added to the soup along with the potatoes (or instead of it), or you can make soup-puree, which is based on celery. How to cook it, it is worth describing in more detail. For soup, five medium-sized stems are cut into cubes and stewed for a while in butter. Here, two boiled potatoes and carrots are added. Vegetables are crushed in a blender, 200 ml of fat cream is poured in, the soup is salted, peppered and put on fire until boiling. The dish is served well with toast, fried in an egg.
