If the purl series is knitted according to the second scheme, then the figure looks larger. When shadow patterns are created with spokes according to the second scheme, the figure from the face turns out to be relief, and on the wrong side, its "negative" image is called, which is also called "shadow", from where, in fact, the name of this technique of knitting with knitting needles.

In order to achieve a good performance of the picture and it looked clear, it is necessary to select the correct thread, which should in no case be fluffy, since in the figure the silhouettes will be erased, so they must be thick enough.

Most of this kind of pattern used to create potholders, blankets and pillowcases, but no less spectacular, they will look and clothing.

Fundamental rules

Always shadow patterns knit together with a thread of one color, otherwise the pattern of the circuit will not be visible. That's why for this knitting technique can come up absolutely any monochrome picture, stencil or a sirloin scheme.

The figure itself is tied with the wrong loops in the front row, and in the purl series it's the other way round.

To form the background, it must be knit in the purl series with the wrong loops, and in the front row, respectively, with the facial ones.

In the scheme, one string of the scheme corresponds to one bound row, most often they are numbered.

In order to see the line of the picture, it must be connected to the end of the series.

The figure can be seen always, both from the front and from the wrong side, and this separates the shadow patterns with knitting needles.
