Cutting the pipe into the pipe: we extend the engineering communications
From time to time, the owner of a house or a dacha decides the seeming is not that difficult, but in fact an uneasy task is to cut the pipe into the pipe. It is important to fulfill two conditions: to maintain the integrity of this section of the pipeline and not to disrupt its hydraulic regime, whether installing a meter or filter, connecting a household appliance (washing machine or dishwasher), taking water out of the water pipe.
The problem is solved in several ways, depending on where the tie-in should be located, from laying pipes, etc.
If you only need one tap, a tee is inserted into the pipe. But everything becomes more complicated, if there is no untwisting connection in the place where there should be a pipe cut into the pipe . It is necessary very precisely to cut out a site of a pipe under a tee moreover and qualitatively to make brews on end faces. Even worse, if the pipe is almost directly adjacent to the wall or even half buried.
The aforementioned piece with a branch pipe will be required, but it needs to be cut along the main pipe so that a flange is formed that fits snugly into the pipe. It should tightly cover this pipe in the place of the upcoming plunge, reliably covering it. At this point, it is necessary to drill a hole equal in diameter to the branch pipe. Place around the hole, not reaching its edge 1 cm, and the entire inner surface of the flange is lubricated by an unsealing sealant. Then the flange is applied to the insertion point and is tightened along the edges with clamps until the expelled sealant appears on the edges of the flange (it is removed). If the pressure in the pipe is small, the flange can be attached to it, wrapping a wide electrical tape. Such a pipe cut into a plastic pipe can be made by any home craftsman.
If the pipe into which you need to crash is made of metal, then the flange with the branch pipe will most likely have to be made by yourself. The fact is that the internal diameter of the pipe under the flange should be equal to the outer diameter of the pipe where the insertion is to be made. This will ensure a minimum clearance between the pipe surface and the bottom of the flange. But after its manufacture, in this case, it will be necessary to drill in it an orifice of the required diameter and weld to it a suitable branch pipe.
In this way, the pipe can be cut into a pipe of almost any purpose - tap, heating, sewer.
By the way, a metal flange (only without a branch pipe) can be closed in a similar way by the fistula formed on the pipe.
