Underwater hunting for catfish: ten rules of success

Underwater hunting for catfish is unsafe, but exciting. And every fisherman who catches catfish has his own personal impression and opinion on this fascinating event - so many underwater hunting.

Immediately I note that you should not make guesses or wish for certain sizes of catfish. Of course, fifty-kilogram catfish is a rare fortune, but ten kilograms of live weight are still worth a lot. Most importantly, in what conditions was the fish caught, so do not divide the soms into giant and "baby".

If hunting is underwater, then when catching a catfish, it is worth taking into account some points before starting the action itself. First, it is important to fish time, whether there is a current on a given stretch of the river, the time of catch (day-night), whether there are many longline or bottom debris, where the catfish is on the feeding trough or nest. And now, after catching fish, it is necessary to evaluate the quality of the fishing gear itself - how the catfish is pierced, where it is pierced by a harpoon, whether the skin is intact, whether the stomach is damaged. Each fisherman will also appreciate his actions during fishing - whether catfish were caught for the gills, or the fish was caught for the jaw (this is the most proud part of the fishermen's story, since such a move could threaten the fisher with death if the fish is large enough). Underwater hunting for catfish has no definite tactics - the personal experience of a fisherman, accumulated over the years, plays an important role here. After all, novice fishermen in a fight with a catfish can break a hand, dislocate the brush, rip off the skin - such damage is not uncommon in the fight with this fish.

Hunting for a catfish is full of dangers. In order to achieve its goal and stay alive and healthy, it is important to remember a few points. First - when underwater fishing, in no case should you wrap the tench on your arm. Yes, you want to swim up with the fish, but it's worth remembering that the fish struck in the spine can twitch convulsively or "become a stake". In this case, do not get excited first of all, the mountain-submariner, especially if the fish is large. The second - at the time of the first (and maybe decisive) strike, you should not try to keep the fish. Control over mining is possible when it is pulled out in shallow water into clean clear water. In this respect, of course, it is better to hunt in the afternoon. The third rule is one diving - one shot. This is the iron rule of any underwater hunter. Adrenaline, overfilling the hunter, prevents a sober assessment of the situation, and it is not safe to be near the agonizing fish. The fourth rule (it probably should be the first) - after diving check the presence of the knife, and this action should be brought to automatism. The fifth rule is to check the line and the coil. After the ascent, it is necessary to check the coil. At the same time, it should not jam, lin should not cross, sink, and the like. The ideal distance is the total length of the medium tension line. The sixth rule is in no case letting idle idle. The fish itself will pull as much as necessary, and even if the catfish tore the coil, then it is worth following it as far as possible, while controlling the tench at the bottom of the coil. It's also not worth sticking too hard. You not only do not exhaust the catfish, but you can also tear out the harpoon from it. Usually, after five minutes, the catfish gets tired, although cases of half-hour struggle are known. The seventh rule is a game on our territory. Undoubtedly, the catfish will fight for life. The catfish is a deep fish, its element is the bottom. In our case, the fish should be closer to the surface - so it is as uncomfortable as possible, and even with the harpoon. In case of your tactical superiority, underwater hunting for catfish goes to the final stage. The eighth rule - as soon as the catfish calmed down, we reel the tench on the arm, and we ourselves go to the soma. The catfish in this case do not prepare for a new fight, as newcomers who are afraid to approach the fish think. Here it is necessary to remember that the fish has suffered a mortal wound, an iron harpoon sticks out in its body, the forces leave it. Reach the reel until you get over the catfish itself. The ninth rule, very appropriate in this case - a spare harpoon and tench or a second fisherman helper. The second harpoon catches finally. Usually the catfish makes two or three lulls before allowing to approach it and apply a second harpoon. The tenth rule - remember the knife. It is needed in this case, but stabbing with a knife is unsafe - the catfish can jerk so that it will cut your fingers with your knife or cut the tench.

Observing these rules, underwater hunting for catfish will not only be successful, but also bring a lot of unforgettable impressions to the hunter.
