Types and application of road marking

Thanks to the road marking, it became possible to establish modes and order of movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Thanks to it, drivers can visually orient themselves on the track. Road marking, can be used both independently and together with other technical means, which are responsible for the organization of traffic. The application and further use of marking on the improved road surface, as well as on local streets, must be carried out in accordance with the current GOST requirements.

The definition of the width that the lane will occupy is made taking into account the existing rules for this version of the road. If the road marking of the transverse profile of roads has been made, which do not comply with the current building codes, the lane width should exceed 3 meters. In addition, the bandwidth may be partially reduced in the event that the traffic restriction mode for passenger cars is introduced. In this case, the strip will be 0.25 meters less than usual. In order to determine the lane width, it is necessary to calculate the distance between the boundaries of the marking line.

If the pavement was made of cement concrete, it is possible to apply a longitudinal line of marking, through which the streams of transport moving along the roadway will be separated near the temperature seam on the left side of the traffic. It should also be taken into account that the flows that move towards can be separated by a marking line from either side of the seam. All the necessary notations for horizontal marking can also be applied on the improved road surface, except for those cases that do not meet the standards set by GOST.

Horizontal marking, can be used in any locality on highways and streets, as well as local roads. In rural areas, horizontal marking is applied directly on roads and streets along which vehicles move. Outside the city, this type of marking is used only if the carriageway is at least 6 meters wide. And the intensity of movement should be at least 1000 vehicles within 24 hours.

It is allowed to apply marking on other roads if necessary to make the car traffic safer. The use of marking is necessary in those cases where it is necessary to divide a large number of vehicles that are traveling along the road in opposite directions. In addition, the marking will be applied on sections of the road where the stopping of vehicles is prohibited and to indicate the place where a pedestrian can cross the road.
