Tula, Moscow railway station: description

Tula is located in the north of the Russian Plain, south of Moscow. The title "Hero City" was received in 1976. It is mentioned in annals from 1146. It is an important railway junction. Trains move in the Moscow, Kaluga, Kozelsky directions. Also there is a route to Uzlovaya. There are two train stations in the city. The first - Ryazhsky, is located in Zarechensky district (Tula). The Moscow railway station (the address is indicated above) is arranged in such a way that all electric and diesel trains from the capital of Russia arrive on special two high platforms that are in the northern part. For convenience of passengers, suburban cash desks are located nearby.

History of the building

At present, the building of the Moscow railway station is recognized as a historical monument of culture. The first building was erected in 1867. It was built of wood. Until 1870, there were already two tracks and the railway station was given the first class. According to the norms, all the buildings had to be made of bricks, so it was decided to erect a new two-story structure. And already in 1868 there was a beautiful building that had semi-oval windows and an original facade. Inside, warehouses and offices were equipped, for convenience of passengers worked buffet and a restaurant, equipped waiting rooms, platforms made awnings, on the left side there was a luggage compartment. Moscow Railway Station (Tula) by 1872 significantly expanded, so it was decided to open workshops for the repair of railway equipment. They have survived to this day.

In 1913, an extension was built, which allowed to significantly expand the useful area. In the 50-ies of the twentieth century, the building was reconstructed. The station acquired original design features - there were bas-reliefs, stucco elements. In the interior, also renovated the decoration - the walls were decorated with picturesque paintings. Major repairs were carried out in 2004-2009. During the reconstruction, the original design was completely restored. After all, this building is a cultural monument, which Tula is proud of. The Moscow railway station was equipped with modern audio and video equipment. Thanks to this, it now fully complies with European standards. Currently, the building houses cash desks, intercoms, a rest room, a mother and a child, waiting rooms, a help desk and a luggage compartment.
