Total work experience

The length of insurance is the total duration of working and other public benefit activities, during which deductions were made to the Pension Fund. This duration is set regardless of the existing breaks.

The length of service for a pension is legal. Thus, statutory payments for old-age compensation, and in some cases for disability or loss of a bread-winner, are established.

Based on the relevant laws, any work performed by a citizen as an employee, worker, and other activities in which a citizen, not being an employee or a worker, is subject to social insurance is included in the total work experience. This category also includes a service in the mountain rescue unit, paramilitary protection, and special communication bodies. The total work experience includes individual work activities, including in agriculture.

On an equal basis with working periods, disability (1 and 2 groups) as a result of injuries related to the production or occupational disease is included in the total activity and temporary disability that started at the time of work. The total length of service includes periods during which care was provided for the disabled, the elderly (if he needs care for the conclusion of a medical institution), and so on.

All the credited periods are, as a rule, counted according to their actual duration. In some cases, the offset in the total work experience is carried out in preferential order.

The total duration of the work activity is established in accordance with the documents that are issued at the place of work. As the basic document, confirming the experience, the labor book acts. If it is absent or if there are inaccuracies or incorrect entries in it, the activity can be confirmed by extracts from orders, certificates, statements and personal accounts for the issue of wages, characteristics, certificates, agreements, written agreements with performance marks and other documents containing information on the working Activities.

Registration of entries in the workbook is carried out on the basis of existing regulatory requirements. So, there is a special Instruction for completing this document.

To confirm the work activity, only those data that are entered in the workbook in accordance with certain documents are accepted. All references to work periods should also include the reasons for their issuance. As an exception, the documents that are issued to the employee upon his dismissal appear.

The experience of citizens of Russia for hiring abroad is determined by documents that are legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. If there are relevant agreements with foreign states, the documents issued by them are accepted for consideration without legalization.

In special cases, the length of service can be verified by witness testimony. They can confirm the work of a citizen as an employee, worker, and also activities during which a citizen was subjected to social insurance, in connection with which payments were made to the Pension Fund. The duration of the work activity is established by the authorized bodies on the territory of the witnesses' residence.

In case of loss of documents proving the length of service, due to emergency situations, there is a certain procedure for confirming the duration of the work activity. In these cases, the establishment of the duration of activities is handled by a special commission.
