Symptoms of malfunctions

How to understand that the car requires the replacement of the clutch slave cylinder? UAZ - the car is very reliable, but this part can fail. Identify the breakdown by several features. First, it is a sharp decrease in the level of liquid in the tank. If there is a leak, the cylinder boot may have broken through. Also, damages can touch rubber or aluminum tubes. Check their integrity. Secondly, the pedal stroke becomes softer. There are "clutch failures". This indicates the presence of air in the system. On some models, access can be closed by the expansion tank of the cooling system. For convenience, remove the fixing nuts of the tank and remove the hose. To unscrew it is necessary a key on 10. Further we disassemble a metal tube which goes from the main cylinder of coupling. It can be copper or aluminum. After that, take out the master cylinder, having previously unscrewed the two fixing nuts with a wrench. With the help of a head on 17 it is necessary to remove the hose that goes from the working cylinder. Next, we again need a key to 13. If the hoses are removed "on the weight" (i.e., on the removed element), the cylinder can be secured with a wrench on one side, and on the other hand - with a cape to unscrew the tube. Self-repair

So, the part is removed and ready for disassembly. First, unscrew the air vent valve and remove the circlip. After disassembling the parts, we inspect the condition of all elements - spring, piston, pusher and sealing rubber. They should not have any signs of mechanical damage. After that, unscrew the air valve of the working cylinder by several turns and press 5-7 times on the clutch pedal. Press the pedal until a clean, bubble-free liquid comes from the hose. This will mean that there is no more air in the system. Tighten the valve back and fit the protective rubber cap. Due to its location, water, dirt and dust are constantly falling on the part. To protect the valve from clogging, this rubber cap is provided. Check the level under the hood. If necessary, top up to the maximum mark. During operation, keep the level at maximum. At this stage the pumping of the UAZ clutch slave cylinder is completed. The pedal will acquire its factory stroke.

Adjustment of the UAZ clutch slave cylinder

To avoid incomplete switching on or off of the transmission, it is necessary to adjust the stroke of the cylinder rod. For this, we clean the adjusting nuts with the WD-40. On one side of the element we loosen the locknut, and on the other - we fix the bolt with the second key. Using the horn on 8, press the end of the pusher. When the rod is locked, unscrew the locknut for a couple of turns counter-clockwise. Next, set the step of the free screw. Ideally, the rod should move completely. Then fix the lock nut with a wrench and thus keep the full stroke of the cylinder. This completes the adjustment process. Prevention

To maintain the clutch system as long as possible, monitor the level of fluid remaining in the system. After 2 years or 50 thousand kilometers of run it must be drained and filled with a new one. After this procedure, be sure to pump the system. Remember that the hydraulic fluid absorbs moisture well. When the replacement is delayed, rust will form in the system, which will shorten the life of the main and working clutch cylinder. Watch for the tightness of the tubes, especially in places where the metal is connected with rubber. It happens that the material is cracked or rubbed against the wheel (if it comes to the front). This is very dangerous, because when you depressurize the system you will remain without clutch and you can reach the destination only by towing or grabbing your gearbox.
