Releaser - general information

Every motorist knows that the clutch system is one of the most important components of the car, and it includes the release bearing. Even at the development stage, any vehicle must necessarily meet all the necessary characteristics. One of the main requirements for the clutch design is the stop of the car without turning off the engine.

When the first cars appeared, their inventors and engineers thought for a long time how to make the car smoothly stop, and then start moving smoothly and without jerking. The solution was found by trial and error. They became a device that is important for the operation of the vehicle in different modes.

The clutch mechanism allows smoothly transferring the torque from the vehicle engine to its transmission, and also to switch gears without switching off the engine.

There are several types of coupling: mechanical, electromagnetic, with one or two disks and so on. The most common is the grip with two drives: the lead and the slave. The drive is fixed to the crankshaft, and the driven wheel transfers the torque to the transmission itself . To disconnect the engine and gearbox, you need a special device that can pull the discs apart for a certain time. For this purpose, the squeeze bearing was designed. This is a very important detail in the whole "body" of the car.

Part construction

The main role in the clutch system is played by a squeeze bearing. This part does not just work in the mode of increased mechanical loads, but it is also the only device that allows switching on and off the clutch. The squeeze bearing is located in the center of the disc and is rigidly connected to the clutch pedal itself. Thus, he easily perceives any effort from depressing the pedal, and then presses on the petals of the basket.

To date, the release bearing is available in two main categories. This is a roller (ball) and hydraulic bearings. The first is the simplest mechanical device that transmits force through a rigid traction sheave. The work of the second is carried out by creating a power moment using a hydraulic system that does not require much effort from the driver.

A general opinion about which of these bearings is best does not exist. Both have a fairly long period of operation. Most likely, the clutch basket or disks can be the first to become unusable. But in the event of a breakdown, the replacement of the release bearing must be carried out by professionals in the workshop if you do not have much experience in repairing your car, since you will need to disassemble the entire clutch assembly.

It should be noted that foreign models are equipped exclusively with hydraulic bearings, but domestic, in order to increase reliability and economy - conventional ball bearings. This also affects, to a large extent, the reliability of the automobile clutch.
