The series "Melrose Place": actors, roles, directors

The American television series "Melrose Place" was published every week on the FOX channel from July 1992 to May 1999. The author of the story - Darren Star, is known from the previous project "Beverly Hills, 90210". Producer of the series - Aaron Spelling, recognized as the most productive impresario of all time, twice included in the Guinness Book of Records.

Unusual project

Melrose Place, the actors for which were selected in view of their universality, was built on the principle of multi-faceted episodes, which included melodramatic exercises and explicit sexual scenes, black humor and violence, absurd intertwining of events and unpredictable plot twists. In a word, Melrose Place had everything.

How the series was shot

On the set where Melrose Place was working, the actors preferred to improvise (although all the participants were given a script), since it was impossible to follow the storylines. There were so many characters that the story changed every minute. The process of shooting continued uninterruptedly. There were several directors on the court, everyone was responsible for their part of the work.

The flow method

The television series Melrose Place, the actors in which they often played themselves, came out on the screen once a week. Since the show was held during the prime time, the action was repeatedly interrupted by advertising and various screensavers. Needless to say, the artistic level of the production, it was a classical soap opera in the American manner. However, the rating of "Melrose Place" was high enough for the shooting to continue.

New Character

Initially, the series enjoyed moderate popularity, then the rating of the show decreased significantly. Producers decided to change the script and immediately "sold" the apartment house to entrepreneur Amanda Woodward. The new character turned out to be successful, the insidious intriguer Amanda immediately took to manipulating the tenants, pushing them against each other, quarreling and opposing each other.

"Second wind"

The viewers became animated, and now at the time of the film's demonstration, the streets of Los Angeles were emptying. Everyone wanted to know what the next intrigue of Amanda Woodward, which instantly became the main character of the series "Melrose Place", would end. Actors, having felt their demand, already played selflessly, in full force, the quality of the production has grown significantly. Heroes of the series fell out of the windows, shot, hung, died in car accidents. In other words, each participant of the shoot tried to prove himself.

The popularity of the series has increased, but producer Proving it seemed a little, and he invited to participate in the shooting scandalously-known porn star Tracy Lords. After that, the rating of "Melrose Place" literally skyrocketed.

Among the main characters - actress Sandra Harling (the role is played by Amy Lockein), who dreams of conquering Hollywood, but while working as a waitress in the bar "Strelki", where the heroes of the series are constantly going.

First season

The film begins with the fact that from the house on Melrose Place, 4616 runs a girl named Natalie. Before that, she shared a room with Allison Parker. And now he is leaving without paying for his living, forcing his girlfriend to get out of the situation alone and pay off his debts. The next day, viewers are introduced to new characters: Dr. Michael Mancini, his wife Jane, dress designer, starring actress Sandra Harling, advertising agent Allison Parker, dancer Ronda Blair, student Matt Fielding, unemployed Jake Hanson and budding writer Billy Campbell.

Recently married Michael and Jane lived exactly: he worked in the hospital Wilshire Memorial, and his wife was an overcoat seller in a small boutique and simultaneously mastered the fashion industry, preparing to cooperate with the successful owner of a large ready-made shop.

The younger couple was visited by younger sister Jane, Sidney Andrews, who in every possible way tried to hide her love for Michael. In the neighborhood with Mancini lived Ellison Parker, who, after Natalya's escape, began to share a room with the writer Billy Campbell. A woman persistently engages in her career in an advertising agency, this takes her the whole time. Billy also does not yawn and tries to break into the post of editor of the magazine, but while working as a taxi driver.

Matt Fielding, a medical student, worked in the social fund, but because of his unconventional sexual predilections, he was fired and is now trying to settle in medical care. A lot of time the future doctor goes to the court proceedings about the discrimination of his sex.

Another neighbor is a biker Jake Hanson with the makings of a ladies' man who drives around on his motorcycle, a success with the girls. In passing, he broke the heart of the young beauty Kelly Taylor of Beverly Hills.

Photographer Joe Beth Reynolds lives in the same room in the next apartment. She escaped from her alcoholic husband, with whom she lived for a long time in New York. Joe Bet hesitated for a while with motorcyclist Hanson, and together they opened a repair shop.

Further along the corridor there lives a dancer with a beautiful figure Ronda Blair, a former ballerina, and now a fitness instructor. Ronda shares a two-room apartment with the beginning actress Sandy Harling. Motorcyclist Jake used to meet her, but when Joe appeared, the relationship went wrong. After a series of unsuccessful attempts to play an episodic character in a film, Sandy won a major role in the TV series "Tomorrow and Forever", left the house on the Melrose Place and went to the shooting in New York. Ronda did not stay too long, she was offered a rich restaurateur.

The mistress of the house

Soon, Amanda Woodward, a charming and assertive bitch who bought the Melrose Place, appeared on the front of the stage. Actress Heather Locklear brilliantly coped with the role, thereby significantly raising the rating of the series. Amanda's success is based on a malevolent character, hypersexuality, vicious statements and defiant clothing. All these qualities, strangely enough, made her a favorite character for millions of viewers around the world.

The final

In the end, the series "Melrose Place" has turned into a real soap opera, which has no end. But when the producers decided to close the project in 1999, first of all they separated Michael and Jane. The reason for the divorce was treason of the doctor. And at the same time, Allison and Billy strengthened their relationship. The point in the history of the residential complex "Melrose Place" was not set.
