Kamskie Polyana is a small town located in Nizhnekamsk district in the Republic of Tatarstan. The population is a little more than fifteen thousand people. The village of Kamskie Polyany is located on the left bank of the Kama River, 35 kilometers south-west of the district center.

History

Precise information about when people settled here, no. According to some sources, the settlement was founded by runaway peasants back in the days of Ivan the Terrible. However, the official date is the eighteenth century, at least this is the first documentary mention of the Kamsky Polyana, then it was a village. The village in its modern form was built in 1981 due to the construction of the Tatar nuclear power plant here . It was terminated in 1990 by decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic.

The Kamsky Glades are located in the eastern part of the East European Plain. They occupy the middle plateau between the highlands of the republic. The nearest neighbors-cities are Nizhnekamsk (45 km), Zainsk (50 km), Chistopol (50 km), Naberezhnye Chelny (90 km). On January 1, 2006, in accordance with the federal law, the settlement of Kamsky Polyany acquired the status of a municipal formation. From this moment a new stage in the history of this settlement began. Within the administrative boundary, there are more than 23 square kilometers of land divided into three arrays: the upper, lower platforms and residential area.

Infrastructure
