The "Octenisept" (spray) preparation describes the instructions as an antiseptic for external use. The drug shows activity to asporogenous and spore-forming microorganisms, gram-positive, gram-negative (anaerobic and aerobic) bacteria. The medicine has an effect on viruses, fungi, including mycobacterium tuberculosis, staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, meningococci. The drug "Octenisept" is active against trichomonads, ureaplasmas, mycoplasmas, chlamydia, herpes, hepatitis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, proteus, multidrug - resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and other microorganisms resistant to chemotherapeutic agents. Active components: phenoxyethanol and octenidine dihydrochloride.

The medication does not penetrate through the wound surfaces, the skin and mucous membrane, it does not have toxic effects. The activity of the drug is noted after the expiration of thirty seconds after application. Characterizing the "Octenisept", the instruction indicates its prolonged (prolonged) effect, the ability to destroy microorganisms without damaging the tissue cells. The agent accelerates the healing of wounds due to the presence of immunomodulatory properties.

The agent is prescribed for antiseptic treatment of the mucous membrane and adjacent tissues, skin, wound surfaces (including umbilical wounds of newborns, purulent lesions in obstetric and surgical practice), ulcers, pressure sores. The "Octenisept" medication recommends the use of abrasions, cracks (on the nipples when feeding, for example) for disinfection. The drug is used in the treatment of the operating area after, during and before surgical or diagnostic interventions. The agent is used to prevent and treat infectious lesions in the eyes, nasal and oral cavity, urinary tract, inflammation in the genital organs. "Octenisept" is recommended for treatment of injured areas (including fractures), burns (superficial and deep), as well as antiseptic washing of the maxillary sinuses, frontal paranasal sinuses, bladder, abdominal and other cavities. The medication is used to wash patients with multidrug-resistant staphylococcus aureus (golden), surgical and hygienic hand treatment, to prevent nosocomial HIV infection and hepatitis when the infected material hits the mucous membranes, eyes or skin.

Before applying the "Octenisept" preparation, the instruction recommends clearing the areas to be treated. Antiseptic should be applied evenly to the mucous membrane and the skin. For use on wound surfaces use a tampon, soaked in a solution. The affected surface must be treated completely. Apply the dressings after completely drying the surface.

To treat the operating field before aseptic interventions, the drug is first applied to the site of the incision, then to the areas near it. Before the septic operation, the solution is applied from the peripheral areas. Antiseptic treatment of the operating field is carried out at least two times.

With burns, wounds (including umbilical wounds of newborns), bedsores, the drug "Octenisept" is used undiluted. Treatment in such cases is carried out with the help of tampons moistened in the medicine, by irrigation with the aid of an atomizer or by applying impregnated gauze dressings.

Do not use the drug with hypersensitivity.

After external application of the solution, a short burning sensation is possible.
