The drug "Acylact" is a microbial mass of living, active antagonistically acidophilic lactobacilli of certain strains, dried free-lyophilized in a culture medium with the addition of a sucrose-gelatin-lactic protective medium and formed into medical suppositories. In one candle there are at least one hundred and seven microorganisms (one dose). Auxiliary components: emulsifier, solid fat, oil solid paraffin.

Suppositories have a light beige or yellowish-gray color, a torpedoid shape.

Lactobacilli contained in the preparation have increased antagonistic activity in relation to opportunistic pathogens, as well as pathogenic microbes, including proteus, E. coli enteropathogenic, and staphylococci. This causes the ability to restore the flora in the female genitalia.

The glycogen of the vaginal epithelium under the influence of lactobacilli is metabolized to lactic acid, which forms unfavorable conditions for maintaining the vital activity of acid-sensitive opportunistic as well as pathogenic bacteria. Thus, a protective barrier is formed and resistance (stability) of the mucosa to the extraneous flora is ensured.

The drug is used to treat adult patients with inflammatory processes in the vagina nonspecific nature and vaginal dysbiosis. Indications include nonspecific colpitis (not caused by candidiasis, trichomonas, gonococcal or other specific infection). The drug is prescribed after the completion of the antibacterial course or as an independent agent.
