And this concerns not only transportation in 20-ton trucks, but also transportation of parts within the same industrial zone. How to ensure the lifting of heavy cargo with minimum expenditure of physical strength? For such purposes, mankind came up with a special device for lifting weights, which is also called a lift. Today we will talk about it.

The mechanism for lifting weights is designed to capture and securely fix various building materials on the loading platform, including when they are moved by cranes. In any case, no matter how it is transported, this lift will insure the cargo against possible falls, breakages and deformations.

Varieties of restraining mechanisms

In order for the transported part to be held firmly on the elevator, there are several types of retaining devices:

  • Cable ropes.
  • Special grips.
  • Traverses.
  • Slings with remote control.

The sling itself is a detachable device for lifting weights, resembling a piece of steel rope with several fastening elements at both ends. These can be rings, hooks, carbines or a rope loop.

In turn, the slings can be divided into several categories. Distinguish the usual devices (serve for hanging loads using special loops and hooks, for example, an iron hook for lifting weights) and universal, which hold the device with special strapping. In the first case, plates, panels or containers act as loads. In the case of universal attachments, their design and binding method allows transporting various metal structures and large diameter pipes. In addition, the connecting and fixing design of universal lifts allows the transportation of long-length wooden products.

By its design, universal tools can be made in the form of a loop or a lightweight slings (one rope branch of different length and diameter). Loop sling is a closed piece of rope, while the ends of this device are connected to the lifting mechanism with the help of special clamps or a sash. Lightweight devices consist of a piece of rope, at the end of which there are special buckets (metal loops woven into the rope). In turn, they fix a hook or a drum. In this case, a lightweight weight lifting device can be used as a multi-lingual and will be able to transport heavier objects.

Number of branches

Also, the lines are classified according to the number of branches used. There are single and multi-arm blocks for lifting weights. The latter are divided into simple and balanced (they are also called counterbalancing). A multi-branch device for lifting weights can have in its design from 2 to 6 or more lines. At the same time, the smallest 2-line element is able to easily transport various beams, runs and wall panels with only one pair of mounting loops. Devices with a large number of retaining parts can lift much heavier weight - ladder flights, slabs and many other concrete products, which have at least 4 fastening loops in their construction (such a fastening system is also called a "spider").

Such devices, as a rule, consist of a ring-bracket, which is hung on the hook of the crane and the ends of the lightweight lines. However, despite their high load capacity, such devices have a significant drawback. It is the imbalance of the cargo when it is raised and moved from place to place. In other words, the device for lifting weights simply loses its balance. In this case, it is necessary to take certain measures to stabilize the center of gravity to eliminate the displacement of the part. And only lifting and moving heavy weights by hand is a matter, you will agree, only for the heroes.

How to lift a load with a displaced center of gravity?

Today, the problem with the rise of such weights appears quite often. Therefore, in such cases it is known that in case of uneven load on the connected hinges, balanced slings (for example, Mosorgstroy type for 10 tons) are installed from above. Such devices have in their design a separate suspension, on which there are 2 clips with blocks that give more weight to the device from one side or another. Due to this, the lifting device quietly lifts the balanced load to the desired height.

How is the lifting of devices that do not have special loops?

In such cases, the product is lined with grippers. In order to lift the device, for example a floor panel, which has no mounting loops, but only holes, it is necessary to apply a loop grip to it. It is inserted into the hole of the transported panel and by means of a special biscuit that turns horizontally, a rapid and safe lifting of the huge reinforced concrete product is carried out. All fastenings are carried out through the same hole that was originally present in this or that part of the plate.

Thus, in the field of construction to date, many types of lifting devices with different number of lines and loops are used. And if the transported load of the center of gravity is shifted to its construction, a special ballast is fixed, which, under the weight of its weight, easily and quickly restores the level of inclination of the product. This makes the movement of the product in space safer and more convenient.
