In addition, the connections of the steering gear wear out more intensively, and the instability of the car that increases with increasing speed prevents safe movement.

Stabilization of controlled wheels depends on their disintegration or convergence. The operation to regulate the collapse of the collapse of the wheels can be carried out in specialized services, or you can approach the solution of this problem differently and make a breakdown by yourself.

To begin with, we determine the signs that it is necessary to adjust the descent of camber. First, it is a constant deviation of the car from a given course in one or the other direction. Having set the arrow to the zero position, the car is rolled forward, so the ruler is behind the geometric axis of the wheels. The arrow shows the convergence value. If it is different from the standards, then it is corrected.

To achieve the recommended rate of convergence of the wheels, you can rotate the couplings of the side steering rods. After adjustment, the locknuts are tightened securely.

Checking and adjusting the camber is a more complicated operation, however, it can be carried out independently. To do this, the car is lifted so that the tires do not touch the ground, and then calculate the points of equal beats on the sidewalls of the tires. This is done with the help of chalk and a firm support for the hand. Putting the chalk to the rotating wheel and, leaning on the object, mark the protruding diametrically opposite parts. Then turn the wheel so that they are on the vertical.

Next, next to the wheel, a cargo is hung or a rectangle is placed. The difference in distances between the thread of the load or the rectangle and the top of the rim will be equal to the value of the camber. It should be in the range from 1 to 5 mm. If not, the camber is adjusted by adding the adjusting pads between the lever axis and the crossbar. Carrying out a breakdown by yourself means saving a decent amount of money, but for most modern cars it is recommended that this operation be carried out in car-care centers.
