Tantum Verde Spray

Spray "Tantum Verde" refers to anti-inflammatory non-steroidal drugs intended for topical use. The active ingredient is benzidamine hydrochloride, a derivative of indozoles. Local application can reduce inflammation and anesthetize. These properties are due to the suppression of prostaglandin synthesis and the stabilization of cell membranes. Accumulation in inflamed tissues is due to good absorption through the mucous membranes. Excretion occurs with urine and feces.

Excipients: menthol flavor, polysorbate 20, ethanol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, glycerol, purified water, saccharin, sodium bicarbonate.

The preparation is also available in the form of tablets for resorption and a rinse solution.

"Tantum Verde" spray is indicated for the treatment of infectious-inflammatory diseases in the pharynx and oral cavity. Such diseases include: glossitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, periodontitis. The drug is also used for calculous inflammation in the salivary glands, after extirpation or treatment of teeth, injuries, surgical interventions (including, after tonsillectomy, jaw fracture). In the complex therapy "Tantum Verde" spray can be used in the treatment of candidiasis in the oral cavity.

The dose of the drug is one click on the nebulizer. Adults prescribe drugs for four to eight doses every one and a half or three hours. For patients from six to twelve years of age - four doses. "Tantum Verde" for children under six years of age is calculated at a dose for every four kilograms of mass, the total dosage should not be more than four.

Tablets for resorption appoint three to four times a day, one by one.

A solution for local (rinses or anesthesia) of the use is used in a tablespoon (15 ml) every 1.5 to 3 hours. This form of the drug is not intended for ingestion.

The use of the drug may cause dryness, a burning sensation or numbness in the mouth. Possible and allergic manifestations in the form of skin rashes, as well as insomnia.

"Tantum Verde" spray is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the medication. Tablets are not recommended for patients suffering from phenylketonuria. The solution for local application is not assigned to children under the age of twelve.

Cases of a spray overdose in clinical practice are not described.
