Sumy State University is one of the higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The university has high enough positions in international ratings. The university is located in Sumy (the city is the main one in the region). Training is conducted on many humanitarian and technical specialties. The rector of the university is Anatoly V. Vasiliev. History of University

In the 60s of the last century the university had the status of a branch of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. Only after thirty years his position changed somewhat. In 1990, this higher educational institution was granted the status of a physical-technological institute. Already in accordance with the ministerial decree in 1993 the position of the university has changed significantly. And to this day it is called Sumy State University. This higher educational institution has a classical principle of formation.

Faculty of Sumy University

According to the latest data, the university has 8 faculties, about 50 departments. Professional training of students is conducted at existing educational levels (bachelor, specialist, master). In total, the university conducts training in fifty-five specialties. Among them, such areas as ecology, law, management, mechanics, chemical technology and engineering, computer science, military science. The structure of the university includes two institutes (Shostka and Konotop), two colleges (machine-building and chemical-technological), one technical school (Konotop), several consulting centers in such areas as Sumskaya, Chernigov, Poltava, Vinnitsa. Various institutions and production facilities cooperate with the university, which resulted in the opening of more than twenty branches.

The average number of students in different forms of education in Sumy State University reaches a number of ten thousand people. 2000 specialists are involved in the educational process. Among them there are about five hundred teachers, of which the greater part has academic degrees and titles.
