Leonid Kornilov: biography. The national idea in the work of a poet and musician

Recently there has been a rise in patriotic sentiment among artists. One of the masters of the patriotic song to date is the Moscow poet, as well as the author of the author's songs - Leonid Kornilov. How did the biography of this creative person develop? What made him join the ranks of bards who had chosen a patriotic theme for their songs and poems?

Leonid Kornilov: Biography

Leonid Kornilov has a long and interesting life. He was born in 1952 in the Sverdlovsk region. First, he graduated from the Marine Engineering School in the city of Murmansk. And then he worked for a while on fishing boats as a simple sailor.

It would seem that the profession is very reliable, but the craving for literature has taken its toll: Leonid Kornilov leaves the fleet and is sent to receive higher education at the VGIK at the scenario faculty.

Since then, Kornilov has written many poems, as well as articles. As a journalist, he was involved in the publication of the newspapers "Patriot", "Soviet Russia" and "The Eye of the People."

In 2001, the light saw the first poetic collection Kornilov "Sootchich." In 2008, the poet issues a collection "With a Target at Heart", and in 2012 - "Russian Passport".

Leonid Kornilov has a good command of the guitar and put some of his poems into music. That's how five studio albums of the author's song were born.

And of course, the creativity of Leonid Kornilov could not be overlooked by the public - the poet is a laureate of the All-Russian competition "Songs of Resistance".

The idols of Leonid Kornilov

The poet himself admitted more than once that it was the work of Vladimir Vysotsky and Igor Talkov that took him into his hands. After the departure of these important figures from the life of the niche, which they occupied in art, and remained unoccupied. Of course, Leonid Kornilov did not expect to replace them on the stage or to do something like that, but the future poet felt the need to write his works in this style in order to continue this line in Russian art.

A funny story happened with the first guitar of the poet: he did not buy it in the store, because it was not easy to get a tool in those years even for money, but found a guitar case in a dump. Instead of strings, stern strings were stretched and, to everyone's surprise, the guitar even sounded and it was possible to play it.

Then Leonid Kornilov began to write his first songs. The poet does not cease to do this even now, although he is already over 60.

Content of creativity

As mentioned above, Vladimir Vysotsky and Igor Talkov had a great influence on the work of Kornilov. Therefore, when you read his works, it is easy to find some parallels.

First, Kornilov's poems and songs are true. The poet calls things by their proper names, without embellishment, as Vysotsky, Tal'kov did, and Esenin and other poets from the classics.

Secondly, Vysotsky often wrote on military topics - about pilots, about soldiers, and from the first person. Kornilov continues this line in the poems "Gold shoulder straps", "I'm killed under Shatoi", "Chechen syndrome". And the "revival" of inanimate objects, which is characteristic of Vysotsky's work ("The Song of a Microphone", "Two Vessels"), is continued in Kornilov's poem "Mercedes-600".

Moreover, when you listen to the manner of performing songs that is characteristic of Kornilov, it's easy to recognize the "proprietary" husk of Vysotsky and his habit of actually "screaming" songs.

So Leonid Kornilov can safely be called the continuer of the creative traditions of two famous Russian poets and performers - Vysotsky and Talkov.

Leonid Kornilov: the national idea

First of all, the patriotic line is clearly visible in Leonid Kornilov's work. That patriotism, which goes beyond the commitment of the "red" or "white" party. Patriotism, which is due only to the love of the native land and its traditions. Including the traditional way of life. That's what patriotism is involved in the work of Leonid Kornilov.

The biography of the poet fully corresponds to the idea that he sings in his songs. He has nothing to do with politics and the noisy world of show business. He leads a modest working life in the suburbs. He lives in a house that he built with his own hands, goes hunting, and in his spare time is engaged in creativity. He uncompromisingly talks about what a Russian man should be, and complains about what most young people turned into, which are seen on television screens and in government offices.

A significant part of the criticism came from the mouth of the poet until the 2000s. But in the 21st century, Russia began to change and became different, so the poet's work became more loyal to reality.
