Streptodermia ointment: an overview of effective remedies

Streptodermia is a serious and very contagious cutaneous disease. The cause of the disease is streptococcal infection, to cope with which will help with the local treatment of affected areas of the skin. Choose ointment from streptodermia, taking into account the age of the patient. Depending on the severity of the ailment, antibacterial or hormonal drugs may be prescribed.

What is an ailment?

Streptodermia is often attributed to pediatric pathologies, but adult cases also document cases of skin infection. Entrance gates for infection are damage to the skin, through which pathogens can enter the body - streptococci. In the presence of strong immunity, the disease does not develop. This is why children are more likely than adults to suffer from streptoderma.

The affected skin with this disease is covered with small vesicles with liquid inside and red spots. After a while, dry, scaly scales begin to form on the surface. The disease is rapidly progressing and, in the absence of adequate therapy, can affect large areas of the dermis.

Streptoderma: treatment

Ointments from streptococcal pyoderma are the main method of treating pathology. Currently, there are many tools that can effectively fight skin infection. Doctors warn that treatment should be started immediately to prevent infection of internal organs.

Ointments with antiseptics and antibiotics are used most often. Such drugs can cope with staphylococcus at the local level, prevent its development and further spread. With a strong inflammatory process, a specialist can prescribe hormone-based drugs.

During the treatment of streptoderma, the water is contraindicated to the patient. Affected areas can only be treated with a swab dipped in a weak solution of potassium permanganate or a decoction of medicinal chamomile.

Opened vesicles can also be treated with hydrogen peroxide, fucorcin, a solution of brilliant green. Antiseptic agents dry the infected areas of the skin well and prevent streptococcus spreading further. After treatment with antiseptic solutions, the ointment from streptoderma prescribed by a specialist is applied to the damaged dermis.

Ointments with antibiotics

For the treatment of infectious lesions of the dermis, antibacterial local preparations are used in almost every case. The effective components of such preparations allow to stop the development of pathogenic microorganisms and prevent further infection of the skin. The following antibacterial agents are used to treat streptoderma:

  • Tetracycline ointment.
  • "Levomekol".
  • "Altargo".
  • "Gyoxysone."
  • Erythromycin ointment.
  • Synthomycin ointment.
  • "Baneocin".
  • "Bactroban."

Ointment with an antibiotic against streptodermia is effective even in the late stages of the disease. In some cases, to enhance the therapeutic effect, drugs with antibacterial components may be administered orally. However, doctors prefer to prescribe funds only for external use, in order to avoid negative systemic effects of antibiotics on the body.

Synthomycin ointment with streptoderma

Synthomycin ointment is often used as a local antibacterial agent. The substance chloramphenicol is an active ingredient and can affect various types of pathogenic microorganisms. Castor oil has an anti-inflammatory and healing effect. Novocaine has an analgesic effect and relieves painful sensations.

The advantage of the tool is the lack of addiction. Synthomycin ointment can be used for a long time. Ointment for streptodermia in children should appoint a doctor. On an individual basis, a treatment regimen for an infectious skin disorder is prescribed.

How to apply?

Liniment synthomycin promotes rapid healing of the skin. To do this, the agent must be applied to affected areas of the dermis 2-3 times a day. A more pronounced therapeutic effect will have the application of a bandage with a small amount of ointment. Pre-infected area must be treated with an antiseptic solution with a cotton swab and wait until the surface dries completely.

Resistance of bacteria to the active substance chloramphenicol is formed slowly. This allows you to effectively deal with streptococcus and not to use systemic drugs of antibacterial action.
