Stone gold: history, properties and applications

Stone zlatolit, despite its natural beauty and brightness, does not belong to the class of precious stones, but it can not be called a simple cobblestone either. This is a very valuable and environmentally friendly mineral, used in most cases for decorative finishing, so beautiful in its final form that it seems unreal.

Zlatolit: the opening of a stone

Known this wonderful stone was to many ancient peoples, however, they knew nothing about its features, much less about the miraculous properties.

Possessing incredible beauty, the natural stone of gold-silver (photo of "raw" to that bright proof) simply drew their gaze. It was considered a great success to find a breakaway piece of this mineral in one of the caves.

Thanks to all the same beauty, our distant ancestors greatly overestimated its real value and value, but could not extract it, because of the hardness of the golden lace and the undiscovered tools of labor. The reopening of this beautiful stone dates back to our time, more recently the stunning deposits of gold-lite have been found in the Urals, on the territory of the Orenburg region. And then, for the first time in the history of mankind, began its production on an industrial scale.

The origin of the zlatolite and its natural features

Modern scientists share the view that the stone of gold-lite was formed on our planet approximately 500,000,000 years ago, even during the Middle Paleolithic. Because of its high density, this mineral is considered to be a metamorphic rock, belonging to the category of heavy rocks.

Classify zlatolith as a close relative of granite and diorite, but in fact in this respect it is closest to quartzite, and this is most directly indicated by its sparkling and sparkling appearance. He is very pleasant to the eye. As far as the "living" stone is golden, the photo in the article demonstrates, but it is not able to convey the incomparable, life-giving heat that comes from it.

The beauty of this stone is due, above all, to impregnations of precious metals, such as gold and silver (hence its name), as well as the amazing ability to reflect and refract light, even in raw form.

At finishing works, its resistance to moisture, weathering and harmful substances in the atmosphere is most valued. Due to these qualities, the Zlatolite is virtually eternal, its life cycle is estimated by experts in 1500 years.

Amazing properties of gold leaf

There is an opinion among the people (to confirm this or to refute it is not possible), that the stone of gold is endowed with an amazing miracle force.

His properties go far beyond the framework of ordinary understanding, so, he is credited with numerous healing properties, he allegedly supports the body in tonus, keeping working capacity and vitality. This mineral has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and it even allegedly "feels" the person's mood, especially in moments of desperation and deep sorrow.

Attribute zlatolita also rejuvenating properties and, in addition, the maintenance of male power. So it or not, it's rather difficult to say, but knowing that stones, like a person, have a soul, this seems quite possible.

Using zlatolita: the purpose and application

As already mentioned, gold is used mainly for decoration works, less often the stone is used for making all kinds of crafts, figurines, souvenir knickknacks, etc.

Despite its hardness, the stone can be easily processed: sawing, drilling, polishing, and this has many advantages over the same granite. Having a homogeneous body, the zlatolite is capable of withstanding enormous pressure, does not crumble at all, and having a very low radioactive background, it is perfectly suitable for both external and internal decoration.

Natural gilding gold is one of the most common, but it can be of a variety of shades: from a few ordinary to just fantastic.

The scope of this wonderful stone is also wide, it is made of:

  • Facing and paving slab;
  • Steps and stairs;
  • roofing materials;
  • Plinths and parapets;
  • Facade and garden elements;
  • Materials for the lining of pools and baths.

In a word, you can do anything from the Golden Litera, only the soul will wish, or at least the fantasy will tell you.

The extraction of gold in the modern world

Not to say that the extraction of gold is solely carried out on the territory of the Russian Federation, in fact, this mineral is quite common throughout the world. But no one has any doubts that the most colossal of its deposits are in the Urals.

In appearance and basic characteristics, the Ural gold-lite does not differ in any way from the stone extracted, for example, in South Africa, and the methods of extraction are not much different. In this case, it should be noted one interesting feature: the stone of the gold leaf, raised from the upper layers of the rock, will always be soft, and its layers are thin. In the middle layers it is already firmer, and the layers reach a thickness of 30-40 mm. On the lower horizons of hardness, it already exceeds granite.

But the most amazing thing about it is that the gold leaf, extracted in the spring, at the time of violent flowering, has a bright and rich color, no matter how deep it may be!
