"Squirrel" (gun): description, characteristics, caliber

Domestic manufacturers for hunting fur-bearing animals have long used carbines for the 5.6LR cartridge and rifles of all known calibers. Intricate fur hunting made hunters sometimes carry two rifles at the same time - a shotgun and a "small bag", which was absolutely impractical. This task has been tried many times. In fact, weapons should not only be comfortable, but also inexpensive: cost is always important for people. That is why the basis for experiments in the USSR were single-barrels, offered at an affordable price. Before the appearance of the combined Izh-56 "Belka" gun, there were other mechanisms, but it is considered a real present for hunters.

Characteristics

The IZ-56 sample has the following characteristics: it is a "breakdown" in which the weft trunks are arranged vertically, which contributes to the optimal shooting of bullets. Locking here is single, lever, carried out by the hook of the bolt: in the barrel hook there is a notch into which it enters. If we take into account the small return of the calibers used, we can say that this scheme is justified. The weight of the rifle ranged from 2.9 (without optics) to 3.15 (with optics) kg.

Opening the hunting gun "Squirrel", it is necessary to press the lever located behind the trigger guard. In order for the rifle to close easily, you also need to press the locking lever. Its USM is identical to the Izh-K and Izh-17 versions, it is equipped with one trigger and the only external trigger providing firing from both barrels. When choosing a barrel, switch the trigger with a button selector.

Agree, the field gun "Belka" is great! If its switch is in the rear position, the shot is made from the lower trunk, in the front position - from the upper trunk. Under the selector, respectively, the letters "H" and "B" are read. For each trunk separately, two percussion protrusions are made in the front part of the trigger.

Special fuse "Squirrel" (gun) does not have: it is equipped with a safety cock plunger, which after pull-out pulls the trigger - from this position it can not be lowered. If you use an optical sight, you will be comfortable to cock a dog, because its spoke is bent to the right. The force of descents is 2.0-3.5 kg.

By the way, the combined shotgun "Belka" can not open when the cocked cock is cocked. Also, when the product is unlocked, the trigger can not be cocked.

The trunks of the rifle are connected by three clutches: muzzle, breech and sight. The small-bore rifled barrel has a connection that is made by pinning and by pressing fit. It is equipped with six right-sided cuts with a pitch of 400 mm. On the shotgun a "sliding" landing is made, its channel is chrome plated.

Extractors are placed in the official coupler. At its top, the "dovetail" is milled, which is necessary for the installation of the optics bracket. The sight of the regular 2.5-fold PVS-1 can be removed easily. As a rule, it is installed in the factory.

It should be noted that this sight is not effective, although it is completely reliable. Removable forearm is equipped with a latch and lateral cheeks, closing in the breech of the trunks interstitial space. The application of the Belka-3 gun is amazing: it is made in the best English traditions. For the manufacture of forend and butts of this model, a birch has always been used. Antabok is located on the butt and shotgun (in the area of a step-by-step modification of the barrel contours).

The open sight of this hunting gun is transferred to the aiming clutch, as the automatic position was removed altogether in height. He received a folding additional rear sight, designed for shooting from a rifled barrel to fifty meters. Due to the movement of the sight to the clutch, the sighting line has decreased (from 725 to 500 mm).

The third version of "Squirrels", which has some drawbacks, still proved to be a very successful hunting rifle, fully meeting the requirements of industrial hunting. The manufacture of this product was completed more than forty years ago, but its structure and working properties are not outdated today.

"Squirrel" in the hands of the hunter

What else is famous for "Belka"? The gun has a smooth barrel, which should have been equipped with a "cylinder with a head" drilling. But constant cleansing eradicated conical drill: now it is even cylindrical. A small narrowing was felt at intervals of 1/5 of the length of the trunk starting from the muzzle, in addition it looked like a smooth and long cone (about 10-12 cm). At the muzzle, the diameter of the barrel was 13.5 mm. Taking into account the diameter of the Izhevsk shafts of 28 caliber (13.8 mm), one can talk about a weak chock constriction.

Completely non-standard "swallowtail" of the optics bracket has a surface with a specific knurling, eliminating glare and facilitating the arbitrary aiming of weapons. Similarly, the fly's base was made. The barrel with cylindrical drill gives an excellent homogeneous sheaf of shot.

The whole of the product at 25 and 50 m is shot and zakerneny in the factory. There were no large STP anomalies horizontally, and vertical deviations had some disadvantages.

Masterpiece

Many people like "Squirrel". The gun is a real masterpiece of engineering. This design is very well designed and executed. This absolutely finished product is nice to hold in your hands! Its outlines are elegant, the system is polished with amazing quality.

Here you can admire the mere processing of the metal surfaces of the weapons! But today, with such a high-quality metal processing, IZHMEH produces only customized samples. "Squirrel" - a rifle serial.

Transformations and features

Izh "Belka" gun was modified by engineers of the 50s: it has significantly reduced weight and it weighs no more than three kilograms! "Excess" metal is eliminated in many places: the smooth barrel has a stepped contour, holes are drilled in the barrel hook, the details of the sighting devices look like toy. At the same time, there is a feeling of absolute reliability of the weapon.

Guns for hunting of this model, despite its purpose and design, always act on a person to a certain extent. This nuance is expressed as associative-subjective, and objective factors. For example, for any shooter and fan of weapons, "Belka" is a usual interesting design. In fact, it is considered obsolete, having a huge number of shortcomings and an unsightly look. Some hunters consider this product a youthful dream. They even perceive the shortcomings of the system in a different perspective, for the dream should not have flaws. Of course, almost everything is forgiven for a favorite rifle, like a long-awaited child.

Assault rifle

Hunters "Squirrel" perceive as a reversal, planting, light, but not an ideal gun. Because of the collar trunks, they unknowingly compare it to the old "hard drives". The features of the system, the appearance of the product, any detail of the design - everything reminds this double designed for fishing.

Loading

In order to charge the "Squirrel", do not need to make special efforts. The algorithm is as follows: press from below with the right hand on the lever, with your left hand, just press down on the middle part of the barrels - the carbine is opened. We put the cartridges, press on the lever again, smoothly close the gun, cock the trigger - the device is charged.

From which barrel will be shot, depends on the position of the switch, that is, the fire selector. The scheme of action and the location of the switch are such that the subconscious mind perceives it as a fuse. And this nuance must be adapted. Of course, it is necessary to get used to the gun, which is equipped with an optical sight. It is here that the convenience of the knitting needle, specially bent to the right, is revealed.

The shooting process

The shooting from the "Squirrel" on the targets revealed one curious logic. Small goals the size of a matchbox surely can be hit only with a small head at a range of 25 meters. At 50 meters the target is completely placed in the slit of the sight.

If generalized approach to shooting from a rifled barrel, it is necessary to consider that shots for small targets like hazel grouses or squirrels are real at a range of up to 30 meters. Optics is not required. At distances of up to 50-60 meters, you already need to use optics or another sight, for example, a collimator.

That's why the owner of such a rifle will always be the problem of aiming devices. Perhaps the solution with the use of optics on an easy-detachable bracket is the best option.

If the rifle is used only for "furry" hunting, the sight can never be removed. Hunting for a fur-bearing animal, as a matter of fact, it does not burn off, even from a shot-barrel. If it is supposed to be hunting, you have to wear optics separately. After all, shooting shooting here is very frequent here. A reasonable maximum for a rifled barrel is a distance of 70-75 meters. And for a smooth one - up to 40 meters. Real distances are considered 25-30 meters.

Effective shooting

During the shooting, shortcomings of the shot squirrel "Squirrels" appear, too gross, without any "pulling". This nuance adversely affects the accuracy of the shooting. By the way, it's quite easy to load weapons and retrieve shot cases. However, some inconvenience is represented only by the small size of the "small" patron, the manipulation of which, especially in winter frosts, can be difficult.

Opening fire from a rifled barrel, you hardly feel the return. And the shot from the shot barrel seems already very palpable.

The accuracy of the firing from the rifled barrel here is quite good, given the steep descent. Of course, bullets from different manufacturers show different results. It turns out that the firing of "Squirrels" must be carried out for a specific type of ammunition.

In general, the "Belka" 28-caliber gun shoots effectively, if the method of equipment and the type of bullets are chosen. As a result, at a range of 30-40 meters, you can successfully extract both medium and small animals.

Cost

Today our society has realized the value of the objects of the past, therefore the purchase of old rare weapons in excellent condition is a good investment. Many hunters like the "Belka" gun. Its price is 600 dollars. Some owners of the product can be bought for 45 thousand rubles.

Izh-56-3 "Belka" is an extraordinary gun, which has pronounced features of the design. In general, "Squirrels", "Frolovki" and other exotics are in the niche of a special weapon, which today is not suitable for most popular types of hunting. But many arrows are looking for their "Squirrel" not in order to get food or earn a living by fur trade ...

Izh-27

Let's study one more interesting device. Izh-27 is a Soviet double-barreled hunting rifle designed for amateur and commercial hunting. It was developed under the leadership of AA Klimov and was mass-produced since 1973.

Izh-27 - a deep upgrade of the Izh-12. He upgraded the shape of the fore and a lodge, introduced a ventilated aiming bar and changed the outline of the box in places where it was attached to the bed.

The rifle is produced since September 2008 under the name of MR-27.

Today, more than 1.5 million Izh-27 rifles of various models have been manufactured - this rifle is the most widespread in Russia.

Description

Izh-27 trunks are detachable, placed in a vertical plane. They are connected together by soldering on the side plates and pressed into the coupling. The zevyo and the butt are made of wood. Depending on the model, the box can be semi-pistol or straight. The rifle is equipped with a rubber shock absorber, in some versions it is equipped with a plastic back plate.

How much is such a gun Izh? Its price varies from 280 to 450 dollars.

Which caliber is better?

So, we studied the samples of the gun Izh. Let's now decide which caliber is better. First of all, you need to find out which bird or beast you will go to. For hunting, for example, on duck flights, the weapon must be with a long and sharp fight. Therefore, it is better to use a larger caliber here. If the catch is carried out with the dog with the help of a grouse (shoot shorts), weapons of a smaller caliber are suitable.

In general, the larger the caliber, the higher the mass of the gun. So, with hunting hunting foxes, hares and game birds, the 16-caliber rifles are quite suitable.

If the shooter is fond of hunting with dog-like for wood grouses, black grouses and squirrels, and also comes with a manch for hazel grouse, it is necessary to choose guns of the 20th, 28th or 32th caliber.

For sports shooting, for hunting on flights and for wild boars usually use rifles 12-caliber.

In fact, there are no precise recommendations for choosing a gun depending on the caliber. It is necessary to remember that from a rifle of considerable caliber you can shoot at small distances, using special "short-arm" cartridges.

Have you ever used a 16-caliber gun to hunt a hare ? Try it, the result will be great!

It is known that it is sometimes impossible to raise a winged chicken "on the wing": instead of flying, it runs along the leaves of the aquatic vegetation. It is very convenient in this case to creep up to it crawling and hastily shoot, until the target hides in the grass.

The best option is Izh-27 - it's impossible to shoot faster than from a double-barreled gun, and in this case it is required too often: the shooting range can be up to 30 meters, the target is too small. Usually, they use ammunition "Azot" with a fraction of 7.5, "Posis" with number 7, "Record" with a fraction of 8 and 9.

The sixteenth caliber is considered the best choice for most Russian hunts.
