Spring spraying of fruit trees and shrubs. How to spray trees in spring

Most of the work in the garden is to maintain the optimal state of decorative greenery and crops. Fighting pests, preventing diseases, increasing fruitfulness and other measures for caring for the country flora are mandatory in the economic work on the site. Trees and shrubs are perhaps the least demanding to leave, however regular spraying is a prerequisite for their development and beautiful flowering. A fruit and berry varieties will provide a summer resident and natural delicacies, but again, provided the competently prepared spring spraying.

Time and conditions

Many gardeners and summer residents are involved in caring for trees along with other works on the site. In other words, when time permits. But to get the highest effect, you should not rely only on your personal schedule. Experienced farmers recommend that spring spraying of fruit trees and bushes be carried out after the snow cover is completely covered and warm weather is restored. At the time of processing, the temperature should be at least +5 ° C. By the time, two periods can be noted - the beginning of March and the middle of April. Spraying in the very beginning of spring is aimed at the destruction of microorganisms, when the kidneys are just starting to grow. In April, the drugs will provide protection for apple, apricot, pear and other trees from insects, bugs and fungal diseases. May spraying is possible, even after flowering.

Technical means

Traditions of domestic management of country economy presuppose the use of self-made devices and devices for spraying. Re-equipped watering cans, jerricans and buckets eliminate the cost of special machines. But this way is doubtful from the point of view of efficiency and safety. Since spraying of fruit trees, bushes, and also cultivated plants requires accuracy and sometimes spot processing, it is more expedient to use specialized aggregates. First, they are more convenient, and secondly, they do not pose a danger to the user. The main thing is to correlate the requirements for chemical treatment of a particular garden and vegetation with the parameters of the apparatus.

Accumulator, gasoline, manual and automatic models can effectively produce spring spraying of fruit trees and shrubs with a poisonous substance, eliminating the risk of getting burns or poisoning. Some devices are also equipped with extensions and other add-ons that open access to hard-to-reach areas.

Than to spray?

Despite the development of the chemical industry, a set of preparations for processing garden vegetation has not fundamentally changed for decades. However, some modifications based on traditional drugs make modern spraying of trees and shrubs in the spring more effective and safer.

The most common tools include the following:

  • Copper vitriol;
  • Lime milk;
  • An insectoacaricide (the so-called 30B preparation);
  • Soap-ash mixture (urea).

The choice of a specific spray is based on the effect that must be obtained: pest control, disease prevention, increased fertility, etc. It should also be considered how safe the preparation is for applying to a particular species and variety of wood or shrubbery.

Sprinkling with copper sulfate

This is one of the most famous compositions that professionals also call the Bordeaux mixture. Despite the popularity of the product, few know how to spray trees with copper sulfate, so that the effect is maximum.

Kuporos should be used before the buds are dissolved, that is, in the early spring. The three percent solution has the following formula: for 10 liters of water, 300 g of vitriol directly and 400 g of calcareous base. Concerning the use in the processing of pears and apple trees, the effectiveness of combating scab is noted. In cases of plums and cherries, copper sulfate works well against the klysterosporiosis and coccomicosis. Shrubs are also protected by this remedy, for example, blackberries and raspberries can be saved from spotting.

Spraying with lime milk

This solution will help to preserve the health, fertility and beauty of plants in the conditions of late frosts. Properly prepared spraying of trees and shrubs in the spring with lime milk for a week will delay flowering, but will save the kidneys from death. During processing, a thin calcareous layer forms on the branches, which prevents the eggs, pupae and larvae of the pests that remain after the winter from growing and developing. The solution is prepared from water and freshly lime. Optimal combination: for 10 liters 1.5 kg of active mixture.

Spraying with urea

Quite common in the farms of experienced farmers and urea, which is a soap-ash mixture. It is prepared in this way: for 10 liters of water, 1 kg of sifted wood ash. The mixture is subjected to boiling, after which it must be cooled, filtered and allowed to settle. But before spraying fruit trees in the spring soapy ash mix, it is necessary to add to it green soap (20 g) and directly urea (30 g).

Insectoacaricide in spraying

This is a relatively new facility in Russia that has been approved for use in private farms in 2013. Gardeners and gardeners know it as a 30B preparation. Among its advantages are ecological purity and versatility in combating various garden pests. In addition, the strong effect of the insecto-acaricide allows one to cope with biological problems in old orchards where plantations have been exposed to insect nesting for years.

With the help of this tool, it is possible not only spring spraying of fruit-berry trees, but also the processing of ornamental shrubs. The procedure is performed once a season, as a rule, before bud blossoming. It is important to consider the temperature regime: as indicated in the instructions, the thermometer should not show less than +4 ° C.

Spraying with diesel fuel and ferrous sulfate

Also, in some cases, diesel fuel and iron vitriol are used. In view of the specificity of the action, they have less spread, but in the same neglected orchards they can protect the flora from unwanted animals. The advantages of solar oil include a strong effect - covering the film with branches and crowns, it eliminates any damage by insects and kills the larvae left under the bark. But it is important to know how to spray fruit trees and shrubs in the spring with this tool.

The fact is that diesel is an oil product, so the concentration should be as gentle as possible. In addition, for some particularly whimsical decorative varieties, its use is not recommended, since the film covers the pores of the plant.

Iron sulfate, in turn, in addition to the protective function, supplies plants with useful trace elements. When spring spraying of fruit trees and bushes is carried out, it is worth treating with vitriol and soil - iron entering the earth, acts as a feed and promotes the production of chlorophyll.

How is spraying done?

Since the event involves working with chemically dangerous solutions and preparations, a respirator or a multilayer gauze dressing, glasses and gloves (better than rubber) should be prepared. In spite of special protective equipment, during work, direct contact with the composition used should be avoided.

Before you start the spring spraying of fruit trees and shrubs, you need to inspect the branches and trunks. They should not remain lichens and moss - the removal is done with a metal brush. Next, you need to assess the condition and availability of the sprayer. It is necessary to plan in advance the progress of work, comparing the availability of highly growing branches with the capabilities of the device. If everything is ready for processing, you can fill the chemical composition in the appropriate compartment.

Spray evenly the surface of the column, branches and foliage. As noted, soil treatment may be required, but this is the last thing. To ensure that the coverage of irrigation is uniform and the solution is not distributed too thickly, it is necessary to observe the optimal distance, usually 80 cm. When the work is completed, all elements of the sprayer are thoroughly washed. The face and hands should also be washed with soap with antibacterial effect, and the mouth rinsed.
