Cinquefoil yellow. Shrubs decorative

Throughout the summer period the garden is adorned with its charming inflorescences, yellow petals. This plant is very unpretentious and does not require special care, for which many gardeners loved it.

Appearance

The cattail is a strongly branched shrub whose height varies from 10 cm to 1.5 m, with sprawling branches. Young twigs pubescent, as they grow, they become covered with scaly, grayish bark. Oblong, odd-pinnate leaves look like a palm. A feature of this plant is that almost all of its parts are covered with fluffy hairs. In June, the bush is strewn with small, but numerous, golden-yellow flowers collected in the form of an umbrella. Yellowback has a very long flowering period - it continues until the fall. If you properly take care of this plant, then one bush can continuously bloom for more than two months. It is appreciated mainly for its decorative, being an ornament of the garden from early spring to autumn frosts. Long before the first yellow flowers appear on the first glass , beautiful carved leaves are blossoming.

When flowering ends, the leaves get a golden hue, which also looks very attractive. The plant can be considered a long-liver - it can grow up to 30 years. The popularity of this plant is confirmed by the fact that it has as many as three names: it is also called kuril tea and five-leaf tea.

Growth conditions

Fur-berry - bushes unpretentious. But, like any plant, very fond of sunlight. However, it is not advisable to plant the cobweb in areas that are too open. Under the scorching rays of the sun, the flowers become pale. When planting, it is necessary to select a place that has a small shade. Ideal - when the plant is well illuminated by the sun in the morning, and in the afternoon is in the shade. When there is a lack of light, the yellowback can not please its flowers at all, or they will be scanty and shallow.

All varieties of this plant are well established on any soils. But particularly suitable are loamy fertile areas. High frost resistance makes it possible to grow the cobweb even in conditions of permafrost. It is not suitable for the planting of the tinderweed only the swampy and other places where the groundwater is too close to the surface.

Reproduction

There are several ways of multiplying the bushes. Gardeners use this or that method depending on the conditions. The easiest is the reproduction of the layers, when the notched shoot is simply bent to the ground, and, having secured it, they sprinkle with the earth. After a while, rootlets appear on the shoot, after which it can be transplanted to another location.

Reproduction by cuttings. They are cut at the beginning of summer, and, removing the lower leaves, they are rooted in a shaded place. The soil must always be moist, for which it is recommended that each shank be covered with a jar. Emerging buds must be removed, otherwise blossoming flowers can weaken the plant.

By dividing the bush, it is also quite easy to reproduce the carp. Planting processes with the kidneys is carried out in both spring and autumn. The age of the mother plant should be at least 4 years.

In order to plant the seedling with seeds, they are collected in the autumn, dried and stored until the spring in paper bags. You can sow and fresh seeds directly after harvesting. Quite often this plant gives a self-seeding. Sprouts that have emerged from the seeds are first planted on a special patch, and after 2 years - in a designated place where the cattail will grow continuously. Growing it in this way, however, does not guarantee that the plant will be given all the maternal qualities.

Landing rules

Kuril tea is not much different from other shrubs when it comes to planting. Typically, planted in the spring, immediately after the thawing of the soil. But you can do it in autumn, not later than September, so that the plant has time to take root to frost. First, a landing pit with a depth of at least 60 cm is prepared. If there are several plants, then their distance from each other should be at least 90 - 100 cm. However, if it is required to create a continuous carpet from the foot, it can be smaller.

The bottom of the pit is laid by a layer of drainage of 20 cm, in the role of which may be river pebbles, broken brick or calcareous gravel. Then the soil mixture consisting of sand, humus and leaf earth is filled. It is desirable to add mineral fertilizer. The seedling is placed in the planting pit in such a way that the root neck is on the surface of the earth.

After planting the soil around the plant must be thoroughly mulched to prevent its drying out. When planting the yellowback, the need for copious watering - 10 - 12 liters of water per plant.

Caring for the cobbler

For the full development of the plant, it is required to carry out its fertilizing. Before the beginning of flowering it is recommended to add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers (about 30 g of each per bucket of water). In frequent watering only young plants need in the first month after planting. They are watered once a week or more often. In the future, the bushes are quite enough and rain water. Only in the dry period, you can water it 1 to 2 times a month.

In early spring, you need to trim the bush. This allows you to give it the right shape, and also promotes more abundant flowering. Cleanliness and order like the rubber. Care for it therefore involves the timely removal of the emerging weeds and loosening of the soil, which must be done carefully, since the root system of the plant is shallow.

Diseases and pests

The cattail is practically not affected by diseases or pests. Sometimes, the leaves may appear rust in the form of brown spots. On the other side you can see fungus spores. Rust is a fairly dangerous disease that spreads very quickly, and a weakened plant becomes more vulnerable to other fungal diseases. When the first signs appear, and also for the purpose of prevention, it is recommended to spray the green parts of the plant with potassium permanganate or copper-soap liquid. The causative agent of rust usually develops in pine branches. In them the mycelium is very well preserved even in frosts. In summer, in warm weather, windswept spores are capable of hitting the cobweb in a matter of days. Therefore, near the pines it is not recommended to plant this flower.
