Solcoseryl (eye gel)

Solcoseryl (gel eye) provides protection of tissues from hypoxia or lack of nutrients. The drug is involved in the restoration of normal tissue functioning with reversible damages and promotes healing of lesions, improving, at the same time, the quality of regeneration.

The active substance of the drug Solcoseryl (gel eye) is a standardized biologically and chemically dialysate, produced from blood taken from healthy young calves. The component is obtained by separation and ultrafiltration. Thus, the active substance of the drug Solcoseryl (eye gel) does not contain a protein molecule, but has in its composition a multitude of low molecular weight products that are derived from serum and animal blood cells. These components include amino acids, electrolytes, nucleosides, intermediate products of fat and carbohydrate metabolism, oligopeptides and nucleotides.

The clinical effectiveness of the use of the drug is due to the synergism of all its components.

Solcoseryl (eye gel) refers to medications specifically designed to treat various corneal lesions, especially its stroma. This is due to the ability of the drug to reduce the risk of scarring and to activate regenerative processes.

The preparation has a gel-like consistency, which is explained by the presence of carboxymethylcellulose in its composition. The presence of sodium salt provides increased adhesive properties of the drug, which contributes to the uniform and prolonged coverage of the cornea. As a consequence, continuous penetration of the active substance into the affected tissue occurs.

The drug Solcoseryl for the eyes is used for mechanical damage to the conjunctiva and the cornea (with erosion or trauma), to accelerate the healing of scars after surgery. The medication is very effective for thermal, chemical (from alkali and acid attack), radiation (from X-ray, ultraviolet and other types of short-wave radiation). The drug is indicated for ulcers of the cornea, keratitis (viral, bacterial or fungal etiology) during epithelization in combination with antibiotics, antifungal and antiviral agents; With corneal dystrophy of different genesis (including, with lagophthalmic, neuroparalytic keratitis, "dry" keratoconjunctivitis, bullous keratopathy). The medication is applied during the period of adaptation to soft or hard contact lenses to shorten its duration and improve tolerability.

According to the annotation, the recommended dosage of the drug - per day, one drop to four times. The attending physician can choose another scheme of application.

In severe cases it is allowed (with the permission of the doctor) to use the gel every hour for one drop. When using other ophthalmic drugs, the interval between instillations should not be less than fifteen minutes.

When using a medicament during the adaptation period in relation to hard lenses, the gel is applied directly to their surface before installation and after removal into the conjunctival sac.

When injecting the drug, do not touch the tip of the tube with your fingers.

When adapting to soft lenses, Solcoseryl is applied in the evening after they are removed.

After application, it is necessary to close the tube tightly.

As a rule, the drug is well tolerated by patients. After application, there may be a slight burning sensation, which is a short-term manifestation and is not considered a reason for giving up the medication.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor's consultation is necessary before use.

After application of the drug Solcoseryl gel for ophthalmic lesions, reviews are, for the most part, positive. This is due to the broad spectrum of the drug and its relative availability. However, before using the product, it is necessary to read the annotation to the drug.
