Severe sore throat

Severe pain in the throat happened to everyone. In different cases it was accompanied by a feeling of dryness, discomfort, foreign body, perspiration. This is due to the presence in the mucous throat of numerous nerve endings. Multiple neural-reflex connections with other organs (kidneys, heart, lungs) cause the possibility of functional disorders in diseases of the tonsils. However, in some people the malaise is eliminated on its own, while in others the severe sore throat becomes prolonged and painful, indicating, therefore, the development of very serious complications.

As practice shows, teenagers and children often complain of soreness. Severe sore throat can occur in children from five to eighteen years more than five times a year. In adults, this figure is on average half as large.

Soreness arises from active or passive smoking. As you know, in tobacco smoke there is a huge amount of chemicals that negatively affect the nasopharyngeal mucosa and mouth.

In individuals with seasonal seizures or persistent allergies, the soreness of the pharynx arises at times more often than in people who are not prone to these diseases.

Acute pain in the throat can occur due to the influence of chemical stimuli. When burning fuel or using household chemicals, mucus irritating solids are released.

With chronic or recurrent infections of the nasal sinuses, infection can spread to the pharyngeal region. With such diseases as sinusitis, sinusitis, often there is a strong pain in the throat.

The pharynx is an organ of vital importance. It crosses the digestive and respiratory tract. In addition, the pharynx is involved in the formation of immunity, in respiratory and swallowing acts, as well as in the formation of voice.

Often, especially in the heating period, there is increased dryness of the pharynx. It is caused by the inhalation of dry air for a long time. A sharp pain in the throat when swallowing, a feeling of perspiration or burning is a sign of a "dry" throat. In addition, soreness can increase with increased voice load. At the same time, the glottis dries and coagulates from the thickened mucus that covers it. Visually, her thinness, slight irritation is noted. In some cases, there are minor hemorrhages, not accompanied by visible inflammation.

Soreness of the throat can arise as a result of angina, pharyngitis (chronic and acute), as well as chronic tonsillitis.

In acute pharyngitis, in addition to soreness in the throat, there is general weakness, dry pharynx, a slight increase in temperature. This causes inflammation on the back wall of the pharynx and on the palatine arch.

Chronic pharyngitis provokes various pathological conditions. So, for example, after removal of the tonsils (palatine) , compensatory enlargement of the lymphoid tissue on the lateral and posterior walls of the pharynx is often observed. In this case, lymphoid granules are formed. Their periodic inflammation stimulates a clinical picture similar to angina.

It should be noted that the soreness of the pharynx can be provoked by a disruption of the sphincter of the esophagus.

Soreness in swallowing can be a consequence of emotional stress, neurasthenia, hysteria. In some cases, it is observed in brain lesions of an organic nature, as well as with cervical chondrosis.

Sore throat is a symptom that accompanies various diseases and conditions. For the selection of optimal treatment, a comprehensive analysis of the clinical picture, laboratory studies is needed.
