Very often our motorists after installing gas-cylinder equipment on their cars complain about increased fuel consumption and weak dynamic characteristics. This forces drivers to seek help from the service centers for additional system adjustments. However, you can manage this problem yourself. Do I need to sound an alarm?

In general, factors such as increased fuel consumption and a weak acceleration of the car from a place are inherent even in cars with the most expensive gas-cylinder equipment. The fact is that the gas (whatever it is, propane or methane) differs in its properties from conventional gasoline - the expansion coefficient of the latter is much less, and besides, the gas evaporates faster. In this regard, the machine starts to spend more fuel. As a rule, this value is not so great. "Appetite" of the car increases by 5-8 percent, and power is reduced by 3-5 horsepower (but not more than 10 percent). At the same time, the toxicity of exhaust gases is reduced to the level of Euro-5. But anyway, if the car began to spend more fuel, do not panic - this is a natural phenomenon for gas. Usually at SRT workers warn drivers about this when installing gas-cylinder equipment. But if the car's consumption has become prohibitively high, the HBO regulation will be inevitable.

Is it difficult to do this?

As practice shows, there are practically no difficulties with setting up the HBO. If you already have experience in self- adjustment of the carburetor or injection system, you will not have problems with the gas installation.

What are we going to set up?

Adjustment of HBO can be different depending on the generation of the installed system. So, the adjustment of the gas-cylinder equipment can be carried out through the reducer, the membrane adjustment screw and / or idling, located on the hose.

How does HBO regulation occur?

Before performing the work, you first need to check the level of compression in the cylinders (this value should not be less than 6.5 kgf / cm 2 ) and the tightness of the intake stroke.

Then you can safely proceed with setting up the electronic gearbox. Here we put the switch in the cabin in the "petrol" position and turn the ignition key. After the engine has warmed up to the working temperature, we set idle speed in the area of 1 thousand, turn off the gas supply and produce the rest of gasoline.

The very adjustment of HBO (Lovato including) depends on the type of dispenser. If it is 1-section, then turn it to maximum. If this is a 2-section dispenser, I camera is set to MAX, and II - to MIN. The idling screw rotates to the stop, and then scrolls in the opposite direction for five turns. In this case, the sensitivity screw is set to the middle position.

How is the 4th Generation HBO Regulation done? Setting idling speed

This is perhaps the most important operation during the adjustment of gas-cylinder equipment. What do I need to do? The first thing you need to do is switch the regulator to the "gas" position, start the engine and set the revolutions with the help of the sucker in the range from 1600 to 2000. What is done next? Now the suction is slightly removed, and the idle screw is set to maximum. So it is necessary to do this until the handle of the device is completely recessed.

Then gradually screw the sensitivity screw. This is done in order to achieve maximum speed at idle. At the end of the process, the engine will operate on gas stably. In this case, idle speed will be stably between 950 and 1000 per minute.

Adjusting the sensitivity of the gearbox

This is the last stage of our adjustment. To perform this action, the first thing to do is to unscrew the sensitivity screw and after stabilizing the revolutions, turn it back 1 turn. Then, with a sharp depression of the gas pedal, we check our adjustment - the injector drive capacity should be good.

Now adjust the dispenser. Here you will need an assistant who, by clicking on the accelerator, will set the engine's rotational speed to within 3-3.5 thousand per minute.

Adjustment of the dispenser starts with the rotation of the screw. Having found the threshold point (at which the speed of the internal combustion engine changes), this part is turned back by ¾ turn. Thus, I chamber is regulated for the 2-section dispenser. In order to adjust the second, perform a similar action (with the screw turning out ¼ turn). In the same way, second-generation HBO regulation is also performed.

In gas reducers, which have the possibility of adjusting the first degree, it is necessary to set the pressure at an idle speed using an external manometer. Its values should range from 0.39 to 0.42 kgf per square centimeter. After that, the idling setting is repeated anew (as well as the sensitivity of the gear unit).

How does the completion of the HBO two-generation adjustment? The last operation involves setting the sensitivity screw. What should be done with it? To do this, by pressing the accelerator pedal, screw a 1/4 turn of the sensitivity screw. This operation is repeated until a noticeable failure occurs. After that, the sensitivity screw is twisted by ½ turn. At this stage, adjustment of the gas-cylinder equipment can be considered complete.

How often should I adjust?

It is worth noting that the need for tuning gas-cylinder equipment on cars arises solely as the system filter is clogged. The exact periodicity of the adjustment, no one can not be named, since everything depends on the quality of the filled / blown gas. As practice shows, if the car will be constantly refueled on the tested gas stations, then the need for HBO tuning will simply disappear. In this case, the adjustment of the reducer and the sensitivity screws will not be needed for the next 5-10 years (and this is the minimum period).
