What is the Arabatskaya Strelka and Schastlivtsevo?

Between the Crimea and the Sea of Azov stretched for 110 kilometers long and narrow sand spit. It is called the Arabatskaya arrow. The nearest town is Genichesk. This is the district center of the Kherson region. Resorts come and go there, however, recreation in the town is still very different from pastime on the spit, where on the one hand - a gentle sea, and on the other - the healing range of Sivash. A hundred kilometers of sandy beach remained undeveloped until the end of the XIX century. On the advice of the well-known breeder LP Simirenka, several families of farmers from the south of Ukraine settled here. And the peasants did not lose. Under the industrious hands, the earth of the spit has revealed its potential. Homesteads of the settlers turned into fertile gardens. Probably, that's why one of the three villages on the scythe called Schastlivtsev was named. The climate here is especially mild, and the sea is somewhat deeper than in Genichesk, but still the shore is not as steep as the South Coast. All this, plus low prices, suggests a cloudless family vacation. This settlement is the golden mean between the noisy Genic Hills and the remote from any civilization of Strelkov.

When to go to Schastlivtsevo?

Unlike the Crimea, the beach season here is shorter - only two months. The peak of the influx of tourists falls on the second half of July and the whole of August. In principle, and in May-June on the Arabat Spit a good rest. Happy can boast of the fact that 300 days a year over him cloudless sky. However, in May the cold winds are still blowing here, and the sea is worried. In June, with an unbearable heat, a cold current can come. But this does not always happen. For example, in the warm spring of 2014 the shallow Sea of Azov in May was completely suitable for bathing. And in August, the water temperature stably keeps at around + 23-25 C, and sometimes reaches 28-30 degrees. Precipitation in the summer falls very little, which pleases those who prefer a tent holiday. Lucky, the private sector of which provides a wide range of housing, at a price more expensive than neighboring Rifle and Genichesk. But still immeasurably cheaper than similar Azov resorts, located on the peninsula of Crimea (Shchelkino, Mysovoye, Novootradnoye).

How to get there?

The nearest railway station is Novoalekseevka. Regular buses run from the bus station of Kherson to Genichesk. And already from the district center in any village Arabatskaya arrow can be reached by shuttle. From Berdyansk you can also get to Schastlivtsevo. The private sector in the village is very large. The supply in 2014 exceeds demand. Those who rent accommodation themselves come to the minibuses, so there should not be problems with finding a roof over their heads. In past years, about 90% of homes, apartments and apartments have been booked in advance. But now the situation has changed. While in Iron Port, Azure and Zatoka there may be difficulties with housing, this will not happen on the Arabat's arrow.

Schastlivtsevo: rest, prices

The Azov Sea has always been considered a place for rest with young children in Ukraine. Soft sand of golden beaches, shallow, shallow bottom, well-warming water, ideal ecology and the absence of jellyfish distinguish Arbat arrows from other places, like Berdyansk or Mariupol. But the prices in Schastlivtsevo are still higher than in the neighboring Strelkov. Probably, the fact that in this village there are more benefits of civilization: mail, ambulance, three markets, a cinema, ATMs. On the beach scurry traders all kinds of food, there are many coastal cafes, shops. Every year in the season in Happy Schastlivtsovo comes the amusement park with attractions for children and adults. On the central village beach there is even a rental of catamarans, boats, water scooters. But the market will please you with rather low prices for vegetables and fruits. But melons (watermelons and melons) are brought from the mainland.

Accommodation: boarding houses and recreation centers

Those who prefer an "organized" holiday, we hasten to please: the Soviet boarding houses did not stay long in a state of stagnation. Now in the majority of them a large-scale reconstruction has been carried out and they are again ready to receive guests. However, most of these places are still focused on poor clients. Therefore, the level of services is appropriate. Be prepared for the fact that the bathroom is located on the floor, and hot water is served according to the schedule. But at the same time there are also luxury rooms with all amenities and air conditioning. An example of such an update can serve as a recreation center "Schastlivtsevo", located along Morskoy Street, 24. The buildings are surrounded by a spacious and shady park area. You can order and organized meals. The boarding house "Express" offers rooms both in the building and in small cottages. On its territory there is a sauna, massage room, parking, billiards, night club and its own beach.

Lodging in Schastlivtsevo: private accommodation

Residents of the village very quickly reoriented to the reception of tourists. Here you can find housing for every taste, or rather - for any purse. After all, students and state employees also need to rest on the sea! Therefore, even in Ukraine, which is hard for Ukraine in 2014, prices for a bed in Schastlivtsevo start from 30 UAH per day. The village consists of small white neat little houses-mud huts, drowning in gardens, twined by grapes. Good-natured "Aunt Masha" always provide you with a common kitchen with a set of dishes, a parking space for the car. But for 30 hryvnia a day, of course, you can count only on a summer shower and toilet in the yard.

Mini-hotels

For those who prefer a more comfortable stay, Schastlivtsevo offers a more or less developed hotel base. Mini-hotels, erected by enterprising residents in the place of private huts, grow like mushrooms after a rain. They are cheaper than boarding houses, and the level of services is higher than public rest homes. Of course, the numbers in them are of different price categories. For some apartments you can ask for 500-600 hryvnia per day. But in the room there will be everything for a comfortable rest: plasma TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, hot water around the clock. The only drawback of such mini-hotels is that, unlike boarding houses, they are located far from the sea. Exit to the beach - through the recreation center "Chaika-2" or "Azov".

Excursions

The sea and the sun - not the only thing for which they go to the Arabatskaya arrow. There is also a health rest. Happy from the eastern side are the waters of Sivash. This small bay is famous for its salts, which in composition are close to the brine of the Dead Sea. Many arthritic and disease-afflicted joints annually come to the Arabatskaya arrow to heal the healing mud of Sivash. Three kilometers from Schastlivtsev, a hot geyser strikes from the ground. Its water is rich in iodine and bromine and is useful for those who have heart problems and respiratory problems. You can make independent or organized excursions to Biryuchy Island, where the lighthouse rises, as well as to the ruins of the Arabat fortress, which was erected by the Turks.
