How to draw an elk in pencil? Let's consider all stages

Los lives in the forests of the Northern Hemisphere. Sometimes it can be seen in the forest-steppe. In Europe, moose live in Central Russia, in the north of Ukraine, in the Czech Republic and Poland, very many in Belarus and Scandinavia. Still these animals live in Canada, in the northeast of the USA and in Alaska. From time immemorial they attract people's attention. The image of moose is found even on the walls of ancient caves. Sohaty - so they call it among the people. Huge horns, a noble bearing, a calm pace of the animal - all this attracts contemporary artists. We also try to figure out how to draw an elk. This seems complicated only at first glance.

Features of the animal

Before drawing an elk, we will gradually examine its expressive appearance. Male elk is larger than female. Its height can reach 2.4 meters, and body length is usually about three meters. Short neck, high withers, long legs - characteristic signs of elk. By the way, he owes his nickname to the fact that the horns have a resemblance to the plow. Anyone who decided to learn how to draw an elk should pay special attention to the horns. Other characteristic features of the animal: a hump-nosed muzzle, a massive upper lip, large and spaced ears.

Let's get to work. How to draw an elk in pencil?

1. To begin with, a simple pencil will make the markup. Do not press the tool too much, because all the auxiliary lines we have to remove. We draw three roughly identical squares - this will be the body and neck. The head is almost triangular, it rises a little above the square of the neck.

2. We give the body a sucked round shape. We will detail the head. Mark the legs - along the length they are approximately equal to the height of the body.

3. We represent massive horns. They go far beyond the neck line. Draw the muzzle: the eye, the ears. On the animal's neck we draw a thick hanging hair.

4. How to draw an elk neatly? For this, we agreed not to put too much pressure on the pencil, so that it would not be difficult to remove the marking lines from the eraser. Carefully remove them and proceed to apply the shadows. The deepest will be imposed on the far legs, the bottom of the neck, the horns. Hooves elks hide in the grass.

What else can you do the drawing?

A very interesting effect can be achieved if the same pattern is made not with a simple pencil, but with charcoal, sanguine, black gel paste. To do this, it will be necessary to be even more careful when applying the marking, so that the traces of the pencil do not remain at all in the figure.
