Russian Viktor Poletaev is a high-level volleyball player. The sportsman is only 21 years old, and he has been a key player of the Kazan "Zenith" for several seasons and is involved in the Russian national team.

School years

Viktor Evgenievich Poletayev was born on July 27, 1995 in Chelyabinsk. At the beginning of his studies at school, the boy showed interest in athletics, not particularly paying attention to other sports. However, in the 5th class, at the insistence of his first volleyball coach Lyudmila Alekseevna Timofeeva, who noticed the talent of the young Vitya, moved to the sports class of the school, where he began to train hard on the volleyball court.

In his teens, having impressive data for playing volleyball, Poletaev Victor began performing at regional and all-Russian competitions as part of his school. The power of the athlete in combination with the game vision and talent did not leave indifferent the scouts of professional volleyball teams, and in early 2012 the 17-year-old Russian signed his first contract, becoming a player of the Zenit Volleyball Club (Kazan).

Junior start

Since the first days in the Kazan club, Poletaev Victor has taken one of the leading roles. Progress and ambitions athlete forced to attract attention and from the coaching staff of the national team, where the Russian was summoned in the course of his first season for Zenit.

As a result, in 2013, Victor trained in the junior national team of Russia for the matches of the European Championship, which he already went to as captain. According to the tournament grid, the Russians passed very easily - in the group the team lost only 2 sets in 5 meetings, defeated Belgium in the semifinals, leaving no chance for it, and Poland, which managed to catch on for one set in the match, was in the final. At the end of the tournament Poletaeva Victor was recognized as the most valuable player in the competition.

Double global success

Thanks to the victory at the European Championships, the Russian team was selected for the world championship, where Victor was also invited. And at the World Championships, the Russians once again did not experience any serious resistance, becoming the unconditional winner, having given only two sets to their opponents in 8 matches. Poletaev was once again among the best in the tournament, he was chosen as a diagonal player in the symbolic team.

Inspired by success, Victor did not stop there, and all in the same 2013 he took part in the youth world championship, where athletes took part two years older than Russians. But Poletayev completely closed this nuance with his experience - in a difficult fight the Russian team withdrew from the group from the first place, eventually becoming the winner, leaving no chance for Brazil in the final match. The youngest sportsman in the tournament was recognized as the best player in the tournament.

The game is based on "Zenith"

The next season was marked for the volleyball player by the basis of "Zenith". Because of the injury of Maxim Mikhailov Poletaev Victor entered the main squad for the games of the "Final Six" of the Russian championship, together with the club won the Cup of the country, as well as the national championship. In 2015, the collection of Russians included a number of awards. As part of his club "Zenith" (Kazan), Victor took the trophies for the second time in cup and national competitions, and also helped the team to win the Champions League, the Russian Super Cup and take the second place in the club world championship in Brazil, where Kazan lost in the final Only the local "Cruzeiro Garden".

In the new club, Poletaev immediately showed how hungrier he was before the game, contributing to local successes and the growth of the team.
