Any discrimination is the way to the degradation of society

Modern world. A world in which there is still a place for abominable phenomena, one of which is discrimination. This is despite the fact that technological progress is already beyond the reasonable, and scientific discoveries turn our minds around. It would seem that there is still something to wish for, because society is developing steadily. However, for some reason, a large proportion of people still do not want to recognize the rights of those who are somehow different from them.

What is the meaning of the word "discrimination"? In different sources, you can find a variety of definitions. However, if we do not go into details and speak in general terms, then discrimination is a moral or physical infringement of someone's rights, due to the presence of a certain distinctive feature in a group of people.

If you give an example, then immediately comes to mind the Russian law, which prohibits the so-called propaganda of homosexuality. To answer the question about what it is in general, politicians either find it difficult or start referring to immature children's minds. However, in this case there is a banal discrimination, the main purpose of which is to distract the thoughts of the common man from the real problems existing in the country: economic, political and social.

It should be noted, however, that the examples described above are typical for Russian society. In Europe and America, a person belonging to a sexual minority has not surprised anyone for a long time. In addition, he has equal rights with all, and in some countries - even the right to marry (the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and many others).

Another direction in which discrimination is manifested is racism, that is, the infringement of the rights of a group of people on a racial and national basis. Racism and chauvinism in 1939 were among the main reasons for the beginning of a devastating war. The weak minds of today, forgetting, in all likelihood, what the consequences of the Great Patriotic War were, cultivate and spread the ideas of neo-Nazism. Not knowing where to send forces, young people (in 95% of cases - it is young) people direct them not to create, but to destruction and hatred.

Another example of infringement of someone's rights is gender discrimination, especially manifested in the world of work. This type of intolerance is characterized by the following: considering someone's candidacy as a potential employee, the employer judges not by his individual qualities, but by the qualities inherent in a particular social group (in this case - men or women). Here we can mention another trend. For example, to a woman who works as a driver, or to a man who has found his calling in the fashion world, many people are treated if not with contempt, then certainly with a strong incomprehension and disapproval.

Discrimination is something that must be fought, in whatever life sphere it manifests itself. Lack of tolerance only harms society: developing materially, it forgets about spirituality and tolerance. And this state of things, in the final analysis, usually leads either to wars, or, at best, to revolutions. Intolerance always leads to the degradation of society and inhibits its development.
