Young years

Rud Gullit is the son of an emigrant from Suriname and his mistress named Maria Deal. The father of the football player had three children and an official family. True, Ruda, together with his mother, he provided completely. Often the boy even met his sisters and brother.

And Rud Gullit started with street, yard football. He lived in the Jordan area and it was in his courts that he drove a ball with local boys. And the first team was a youthful FC called "Meerboiz". There Rud came in 1970. But when he was 10 years old, he moved with his mother to Oud West - another area of Amsterdam. The previous conditions were terrible - the room is only 6.5 x 4 m. Club career

In 1978, the player began to compete for the "Harlem". His professional debut in the first team took place at the age of 16, which made him the youngest player in the history of the top division. Rud Gullit showed himself superbly - scoring goals and making assists. The head coach even called him "the Dutch Duncan Edwards".

In 1982, he moved to the Feyenoord team for $ 550,000. Together with this club, he won the Cup and the national championship. In 1984, the young man was recognized as the best football player in the Netherlands. The following year, he moved to "PSV". There he was again recognized as the best in Holland. That's only next year, when Chelsea firmly stood in second place in the Premier League and got into the quarterfinals of every English cup, Rudy was fired. What plunged him into shock.
