Rubber crumb coating. Rubber crumb coating with own hands

Rubber crumb is a wonderful material that has a wide range of applications. Due to the mass of positive qualities, its use is very effective when laying the coatings. Particularly relevant are sports and children's playgrounds, as well as in industry. There is a bulk, tile and roll coating of rubber chips.

Rubber cover

Rubber crumb is a collection of granules of various shapes made from crushed and recycled automotive rubber that retains the molecular structure and properties inherent in the raw material.

To obtain a high-quality coating, it is necessary to add a binder that consists of polyurethane. It gives the material elasticity and allows a strong adhesion to the substrate. With its use, the rubber crumb coating is reliable, resilient and durable.

The material is produced by rolls or tiles. Coloring is carried out by the addition of different dyes. Coatings of crumbs have an uneven surface, which eliminates the possibility of slipping. Use them can be in any weather conditions, because the surface is not going to dirt and water.

Scope of application

Anti-slip, trauma-safe, wear-resistant coating of rubber chips is widely used for construction:

  • Gyms, stadiums, tennis courts;
  • Children's playgrounds;
  • Cattle-breeding premises.

This material is also used in various industries. Rubber crumb is used in oil production in the production of mixtures designed to work wells. Apply it in the production of sports equipment, rubber products.

A wide distribution was received by seamless coatings from rubber crumbs in civil and road construction. When you add it to asphalt, you get a high-quality material for sidewalks, roads. It is also used for the manufacture of products of various coatings: pavers, carpets, tiles, liquid floors.

Benefits

The coating, which includes an element such as rubber chips, has the following advantages:

  • Stability. The material is resistant to temperature changes, bends and tears, ultraviolet rays.
  • Wear resistance. Products made of this material have a long life.
  • Aesthetics. Thanks to a wide color palette and its combination has a beautiful, attractive appearance. It has a resistance to burnout and exposure to aggressive media (alkalis, acids, solvents).
  • Hygiene. On the cover there is no rot, mold, weeds, insects.
  • Elasticity and safety. The material from rubber crumb does not emit toxic substances and is harmless to health. It has traumatic and shockproof, as well as anti-slip properties.
  • Easy to clean. The coating does not shrink, the grass does not germinate through it. It is easy to clean, and vacuum cleaned indoors. Does not create problems when replacing a damaged area.

Stages of laying

In the article, we give an example of how to lay a liquid coating of rubber chips, intended for a sports ground. It should be noted that it can be used both indoors and outdoors.

In order for the coating to turn out to be of high quality, the technology of its laying should be strictly observed. At the beginning of the process, it will be necessary to prepare the surface and perform priming. Next, the coating and the monolithic layer are laid. And at the end of the work, the marking and finishing lacquer layer are applied.

Surface preparation and priming

Sports coating of rubber chips is usually applied to a wooden, concrete or asphalt base. For good adhesion, the surface must be cleaned of dirt. If the base is concrete, it is wetted with water, ground, then the dust is removed with a vacuum cleaner. Work on the street is conducted at an air temperature above +5 degrees. As a result, after the end of the first stage, the surface should be clean, dry, slightly rough.

The next type of work - priming, which should ensure good adhesion, soak, de-dust, harden the surface. For this use a primer ADV-46, ADV-56, ADV-17. Each of them has its own characteristics and purpose. The choice should be based on the conditions of applying a primer coat. After the end of this stage, you need to proceed to the next, the break should be no more than a day.

Laying of coating and monolithic layer

Rubber crumb coating with their own hands is not difficult to perform. If the work is conducted in the open air, you need to make sure that during the day after that there is no precipitation expected. A special mixture is being prepared. The calculations below are designed for a layer thickness of 0.1 cm in a section of 1 m 2 . It will take: 7 kg of rubber chips, 1.5 kg of binder ADV-65, 0.3 kg of pigment. All components are mixed in a concrete mixer. The resulting mass is applied to the base covered with a primer. The area is leveled by rakli. Then roll it with a greased anti-adhesive roller.

If the coating is laid in the room, a monolithic layer will be required. It provides resistance to mechanical stress. First, the pad is covered with ADV-61 putty to close the pores. On it lies the reinforcing layer of the grid. After 24 hours the compound ADV-61 is poured. The thickness is 1.5-2.5 mm. The alignment is performed with the Rakley and the notched trowel.

At performance of works the optimum temperature of air +20 degrees, humidity of 80%. Operation site is possible in a week after laying the coating.

The final stage

When the main work is done, markup must be applied to the sports cover of rubber chips. It must be dry and clean. The air temperature during painting is from +5 degrees. Marking is performed by a mixture of such components: oligomer ADV-17, color paste, catalyst. Application is done by roller or brush. Consumption per 1 m 2 - 200 grams of the mixture. Staining should be done in two layers.

To rubber coating was more resistant to wear and had a beautiful appearance, 24 hours after laying it is covered with varnish ADV-63E. Application is carried out by a velvet roller in two layers. Consumption per 1 m 2 - 0,05 kg of varnish. Break between layers 3-6 hours.

Boldly lay a coating of rubber chips on sports grounds. This is an excellent option for operation for this purpose, and not only.
