Rococo (embroidery) for beginners: schemes and tips

Embroidery in the style of rococo - relief, and it comes from the same style in art. "Rococo" translates as "sink" or "curl".

The Rococo Age

In the first half of the 18th century there was a Rococo period in Europe. In Russia, then the rules of the Empress Catherine the Great. The best examples of the time were the works of such painters as Boucher, Watteau and Fragonard.

The Rococo period is still called a miniature age. At that time, a miniature, puppet beauty of short height, the owner of a thin, tight-fitting waist with narrow shoulders and a small mouth was considered the ideal of beauty. Most often such beauties preferred to wear dresses with a deep neckline and an immensely lush skirt. The sleeves of the clothes were decorated with multilayer lace, and the dresses themselves were usually made of silk, cambric or taffeta. The preferred colors of the dresses were pastel shades: pale yellow, pale green, pink and pale blue. As embellishments there were collars, bows and flowers - garlands of flowers.

The characteristic features of the epoch were diminutiveness, decorativeness, relief and volume. Not surprisingly, this is reflected in the embroidery. So there was a rococo style. Embroidery decorated clothes, wall panels and home textiles of that time.

Now the rococo embroidery is back in fashion. The masters adorn her with clothes and textiles for the house. Embroidery of rococo for beginner needlewomen may seem complicated, but it is not. There are in it their wisdom, but there are not many of them.

Embroidered Rococo

Rococo - embroidery, using an amazing way of doing the work. They turn out to be voluminous and very lively. And this can not but rejoice the master. Therefore, this style again becomes popular.

Rococo allows you to embroider a variety of voluminous images.

For work we need:

  • Embroidery frame;
  • Ordinary threads of different colors;
  • needle;
  • scissors;
  • the cloth.

Getting Started

First of all, you should take the fabric and pull it on the hoop. Working with the embroidery frame is always identical: a ring of smaller diameter is placed on the wrong side of the fabric, the second is applied with the front. The rings are connected and tapered with a special wheel. The fabric is stretched, you can start working.

First, select the sketch you want to perform in the Rococo style. Embroidery always begins with the definition of the future image. Usually it is applied to the fabric with a pencil. Experienced craftsmen prefer to work by eye.

A double thread is threaded into the needle. The needle is pulled from the front side. Then the thread is wrapped around the point several times. The needle is threaded into the resulting rings and the loop is tightened. The result is a three-dimensional strip. Similarly, you can make a second strip. Basis of rococo - embroidery with similar strips. They can embroider flowers, trees, and much more. The style of embroidery and technique allows you to "revive" in the volume of any picture.

Basic techniques

Embroidery rococo, whose schemes are not required to search, is fairly easy. Master, having mastered several tricks and seams, can create real masterpieces.

One common suture is a "knot". The thread is attached to the wrong side, after which the needle is pulled out to the front and turns to the left. On the spine is made 2-3 winding threads. After that, the needle is removed from the front side to the purl at a distance of 1-2 mm from the previous puncture. The thread extends, and the needle again comes out on the front side. You need to make sure that it was close to the previous puncture. A similar seam allows you to create, for example, the core of a flower.

The seam "naviv" is similar to a "knot". The only difference is that more needles are needed on the needle, and the seam becomes elongated. To this version of the seam requires a special needle: long and the same in thickness.

The thread is attached from the wrong side, then the needle is removed to the front. After this, you must follow the standard stitch called "back needle". The needle itself remains in the fabric, and around it the thread is unwound. Hold your fingers with the resulting windings, pass through them a needle, gently stuck it into the fabric, pull it from the wrong side and fix the thread. Such a seam perfectly produces flowers: chamomile, chrysanthemum and even roses.

The seam of the "loop". The thread is attached from the underside, the needle is displayed on the front side. Then the needle is again withdrawn to the wrong side, puncturing it next to the first puncture. It should be ensured that a small loop remains on the front side. The needle is again displayed on the front side and the loop is fixed twice with a stitch "stitch". With this seam the whole surface of the embroidered pattern element is worked, after which the loops are neatly trimmed. The result is a velvety surface resembling carpet pile. With this seam, you can embroider animals or fill the middle of the flowers.

Advice

Thanks to a number of tips, such an occupation as rococo embroidery, for beginner needlewomen will not be difficult. So, the work will turn out beautiful if you follow the following rules:

  • The thickness of the needle should be uniform. This will allow it to easily enter the wounded stitches.
  • Fabrics and threads must correspond to each other: if the work goes on a light fabric, thin threads will be required, and so on.
  • You should carefully select the thread for the job. They should be even and elastic. In this case, they will be able to retain the form of the twist.
  • During work, the coils should be tightly held, otherwise they will spin.
  • The flagella fit together as closely and tightly as possible, then the work will look better.

With the observance of the rules and a little training, it becomes clear how easy the rococo technique is. Embroidery will add charm and emphasize the individuality of the fashionista. The needlewomen often try themselves in the role of designers, independently devising an ornament for their clothes. Such embroidery is decorated with knitted and denim items, tablecloths, napkins and other household attributes. And the embroidery process itself is captivating.

Technique of patterning

Many needlewomen strive to decorate their clothes with flowers, and for this purpose the rococo embroidery is perfect. Schemes, as a rule, are not needed. The process of creating chamomiles, berries, roses, leaves and knots is not difficult.

To create chamomile, the needle is removed from the center of the flower. Then it is stuck in the place where the end of the petal should be. This process is repeated: the needle is again withdrawn in the same place and stuck in the same place, but at the same time several turns of thread are wound on it. This is the result of the petal of chamomile. Similarly, the rest are done.

The process of creating roses is almost the same as in the previous case. The only exception is that the rose petals are folded.

When embroidering a berry, the thread winds on both ends of the needle. The thread is fixed, the stitch is made from the top down. The needle does not need to be stretched, only the thread, previously wrapped between the two ends of the needle, is removed from it. The last coil resembles a figure eight. After sewing the berry, its upper part is also sewn to the fabric.

When the leaf is embroidered, the flagellum stitches fit tightly to each other in the appropriate shape. And to make a nodule, you need to remember the process of creating chamomile. Stitch with 3-4 turns ends where it started.

Embroidery of rococo on knitted products is carried out in the same way. Only a thicker needle and the corresponding threads will be required.

Finally

Everything new is a well-forgotten old. The rococo style is gaining popularity again. Decorated by him products of interests, are original, emphasize individuality and style. Embroidery is easy - master several stitches, and you can work wonders, turning everyday clothes into works of art.
