The tragedy-poem "Boris Godunov" was written A. Pushkin in 1825. It was the first historical work of the author. Boyarin Shuisky accuses Boris of the murder of Tsarevich Dmitry. But Muscovites do not hear him. Their eyes and entreaties are turned to Shuisky. Soon Boris nevertheless agrees to become a tsar. Pimen and Gregory in the Chudov Monastery

Four years after these events in the Chudov Monastery, Father Pimen wrote his chronicle about the murder of Tsarevich Dmitry. Next to him is a young monk Grigory, to whom the old monk tells about all the circumstances of this bloody affair. A devious plan is born in the head of a young novice, whose goal is to declare himself a surviving prince. He runs from the monastery. Thus began the way False Dmitry in Moscow. This is the idea of this moment in the history of Russia of such an author as Pushkin. "Boris Godunov", which is summarized here, is a historical drama about the Time of Troubles in Russia.

Soon the monk Gregory is announced at the court of the Polish king and tells that he is allegedly the surviving Tsarevich Dmitry. There he is promised to help. On the way to Moscow, the former novice stops at the house of the Polish voivode Mniszka. His lovely daughter Marina charms with her beauty Gregory. But she has no love for him. She realizes that the "prince" can make her the ruler of the Russian state. For this, she agrees to help him in everything. The way False Dimitri lies in Moscow. With him are the troops of Poland. On the way, he conquers cities and villages. People believe in his legend and easily obey him. The death of Godunov and the victory of Falsdmitry

Boris Godunov learns that "Tsarevich Dmitry" comes to him with the Polish army. He decides the urgent convening of his troops and wants to put at the head of their ignorant boyar Basmanov. But unexpectedly after a conversation with him, Godunov fell ill. Soon the people become aware of the death of Tsar Boris. At this time on the square in Moscow appears False Dmitry and his assistants. Basmanov swears to him and promises his support. Moscow boyars understand that the appearance of the "prince" at court is nothing more than an ingenious deceit of the impostor. But they realize that the conquest will benefit him on their side. Boris's house is taken into custody, and his children and his wife are under arrest. Boyars report that the son of Godunov Theodore and his wife Mary "themselves poison themselves with poison." This episode ends the work. In addition to artistic merit, the value of the historical poem "Boris Godunov" - the content.
