Prioksko-terraced nature reserve

Moscow Region carefully preserves the unshakable nature of the reserve, whose name is associated with the proximity of the flowing Oka River. Its coastal sand covers limestone and clay almost throughout the entire territory. Rain water, passing through the sand, lingers on clay layers, thereby creating favorable conditions for feeding almost all the flora. Chemical processes in limestones, originating from precipitation, covered the entire territory of the reserve with a lot of funnels. They are several hundred, they were formed as a result of subsidence of the earth. Dimensions of funnels range from a few decimeters to twenty meters.

Flora

The Prioksko-terasny reserve (Moscow region) is rich in plant species that can be found from the southern taiga to the steppes. A little warmer - and flowering in the reserve occurs continuously until late autumn, some plants are replaced by others. In the spring on the lawns there is a carpet of blue forget-me-nots, in the wooded part hohlatki and lungworts are blossoming. In the glades the color of the strawberry is replaced by a coverlet of mixed herbs, pink carnations are revealed on the hills, and lilies of the valley are white in the woods. In the middle of summer the air is full of lime scents. August is the month of flowering lilac heath. The beginning of autumn - and blush bunches of guelder rose. The reserve is especially beautiful in autumn, on sunny days. Under protection are rare plant species.

Calves grow in natural conditions, almost without knowing a person, since they are nurtured by the zubrits themselves.
