Queen of meadows and gardens - chamomile. Types of chamomiles

There are a huge number of species (2000) of only large chamomiles. Many people are accustomed to representing them as white flowers with a yellow midpoint. And this is not entirely true.

Many grow daisies in the garden. Their species are limited to two or three. However, among the above number of species, there are many different shades of chamomile, similar in structure and reproduction, similar in planting and care. For many, they may seem far from the flowers we are accustomed to. But this is the real chamomile.

Chamomile: Species

Approximately 40 species of chamomile are common in the countries of Eurasia, in the Americas. In the Russian latitudes, you can often see a camomile and a fragrant chamomile. The same name has certain types of pyrethrum, nivianica, chamomile and chamomile (chamomile odorless).

Almost everywhere you can meet chamomile odorless, completely odorless. Very similar to her chamomile. However, they have differences.

Among the flowers growing in nature, there are annual and perennial chamomiles. Their species are very diverse. Consider the most interesting of the types of chamomile, common in many countries.

One of the most growth species is Echinacea purpurea, which has bright petals, surrounded by a yellow-brown cone-shaped center. The stem of the flower is decorated with white hairs and dark green leaves. This flower is interesting because its central cone actually represents tiny flowers, and bright petals are leaves. Wild echinacea grows in abundance in the east of North America.

Gerberas are very fragile and rather capricious plants in comparison with other species of chamomile. Due to their different colors, they look great in flower beds and bouquets. This kind of daisies comes from Madagascar, South Africa and Asia.

The popular chrysanthemum is large-colored, in comparison with other species, does not occur in the wild. This species is a hybrid camomile created by Luther Burbank in California, which is why the Americans themselves usually call it Chamomile Chamomile.

Chamomile officinalis

There is a medicinal daisy in nature . Types of pharmacy chamomile are different from ordinary chamomile. Pharmacy chamomile has good medicinal properties. It is a herbaceous annual plant, whose height is 40 cm. Chamomile has a weakly rooted root system. Stem strongly branched naked, sessile leaves alternate, twice divided into pointed stalks.

Pharmacy chamomile (all kinds) has a pleasant smell and a bitter taste. This plant is unpretentious and does not require care, so it is common in the wild.

Differences between medicinal camomile and odorless

White flowers of the chemist's chamomile coming out of the flower basket are twice shorter than the usual odorless. The leaves of the chemist's are distinguished by the fact that they are pinnately divided. Exactly the same leaves have one daisy - odorous. Only white flowers with long tongues, like the odorless, this flower is missing.

The smell of chamomile fragrance, like that of medicinal, is also quite strong. Both have valuable medicinal properties. Medicinal daisies - annual flowers. If you collect all the chamomile in one place before the ripening of their seeds, then the next year there may not be daisies in that place. Chamomile is odorless, unlike medicinal species, the plant is perennial.

Types of yellow daisies

Voronika (or roe deer) is an unusual yellow daisy. There are two kinds of these colors. This is the Doronikum - oriental and plantain. They differ mainly in the height of the peduncles and in the diameter of the flowers themselves.

The first species has erect, quite unbranched stems up to 50 cm high. At the end of the stem is a single yellow basket (chamomile), whose diameter is about 8 cm.
A prenewich plantain has stems as high as 1.5 meters, the flower itself has a diameter of 10-12 cm.

Blossom these kinds of camomiles from mid-May to mid-June (depending on the region). This flower does not form seeds, they multiply only by dividing the bushes, so the stems are cut after flowering.

Perfectly looks in the flower gardens from late spring to early summer, the yellow dorook (camomile). Species of this daisy should be planted in the background of the flower garden, because they blossom early and then lose their decorative. And among themselves (in connection with different heights), they should be appropriately divided into growth in the flower bed.

Virtually all kinds of chamomiles look great in single and group plantings on flower beds, and especially effectively they look on a green lawn.
