Pyrolysis boilers. The Optimal Choice For Heating Your Home

As soon as winter comes, every owner of his house, asks himself the question: Which boiler for heating to choose? How to save on heating costs? Many stop at gas boilers, since this is a cheap option and does not require large installation costs. But after a while, many come to the conclusion that this kind of heating is very expensive. And looking for new ways of saving. Today, let's talk about pyrolysis solid fuel boilers, their advantages, and drawbacks.

At the moment, the Russian and Ukrainian market now offers: boilers Atmos (Atmos, Czech Republic), Viessmann, Buderus (Germany), BOURGEOU-K (Russia).

A distinctive feature of traditional solid fuel boilers from pyrolysis boilers (they are also called gas-generating boilers) is that in such boilers there is burning of wood gas, it is released from firewood at a very high combustion temperature in conditions of lack of oxygen. Because of this, the process of decomposition of wood into two substances occurs: the first is pyrolysis, it is wood gas, and the second is coke (solid residue of charcoal).

The furnace in pyrolysis boilers is divided into 2 parts. The first is the loading chamber, the second is the lower combustion chamber. In the first chamber of oxygen less than in the second, because of this, the pyrolysis of the fuel occurs, that is, the release of wood gas, which enters the lower combustion chamber.

Wood gas (pyrolysis) is released at a temperature of 200-750 ° C. When burning wood, the pyrolysis gas, which is released, reacts with the active carbon, with very little harmful impurities released to the atmosphere. The percentage of carbon dioxide (CO2) that emit pyrolysis boilers is much smaller than conventional wood burning, and coal - fired boilers. Pyrolysis boilers are gaining increasing popularity among the population of Russia and Ukraine. The main advantages of such boilers are: high efficiency (up to 83%); The fuel loading interval is reduced by a factor of 2, while the burning time is increased; The presence of an automatic power control controller. Especially in pyrolysis solid fuel boilers, burning of firewood practically does not create soot, the amount of ash is minimal.

As with any product, these boilers have their drawbacks: the most important disadvantage is the high cost, the second - the pyrolysis boilers are very capricious to the choice of fuel, the humidity of the loaded fuel should not exceed 25%. Although each boiler has its own "fastidiousness" to fuel. Remember: the lower the humidity of the fuel burnt, the greater the efficiency of the boiler.

If you conceive a self-repair house, it is worth taking care of installing independent heating. Gas fuel is constantly becoming more expensive. For this purpose, these boilers are good, because the economy of fuel costs is at least 2 times lower. The choice is yours!
