The ubiquitous plate has a widespread distribution as a building structure. Often, building materials use reinforced concrete. Reinforced concrete products - what is it?

Reinforced concrete is a building complex material, consisting of steel and concrete. Steel reinforcement works on stretching, and concrete on compression. The combination of these materials made it possible to achieve the following characteristics:

  • Resistance to active aggressive environments;
  • Preservation of quality during prolonged use;
  • Resistance to fire;
  • Distinctive strength.

Characteristics

The surrounding conditions and the place of operation determine the requirements for the quality and characteristics of the material. It is possible to use porous concrete or expanded clay concrete to reduce the total mass. A parapet slab is used for the roof of structures and buildings. In the presence of complicated operating conditions, it is rational to use concrete of heavy brands that are resistant to the influence of external negative factors and low wear. Often, colored cement is used for decorative works in the arrangement of embankments with reinforced concrete slabs.

For the production of quality boards an important condition is the conformity of technical conditions and product properties, as well as strict observance of established standards. Concrete for manufacturing must have a compressive strength class of at least B15. Mandatory treatment with sulfate-resistant Portland cement, if the parapet slab will be used in complicated conditions.

The meaning of the markings

Traditionally, the plant of concrete products indicates the following data on the marking of plates:

  • Material of manufacture;
  • Form-factor is a division into products from porous fillers or from heavy concrete;
  • Compressive strength marker;
  • Dimensions - thickness, length and width.

Creating the required rigidity

The reinforced concrete parapet slab is reinforced with high-grade wire with corrugation or hot-rolled reinforcement. The parts of the reinforcement that are outside the concrete (which is possible only with certain design data) are covered with a special anti-corrosion compound. Products with various weights and dimensions are realized, while deviation from the established sizes is not allowed more than 3 mm and 5 mm respectively for thickness and width. Additional hydrophobic treatment is used to protect elements of the parapet that are affected by water.

The reinforced concrete plant can apply perlite concrete, expanded clay aggregate and heavy concrete for filling in order to create a practical and high-quality design, which will last for more than a decade.

In general, the plate has a rectangular shape with an even surface and refers to pitched structures, which makes it possible to ensure free water convergence. The mucus on the bottom prevents water from getting inside.

Color and white cement improve the appearance of the slabs, which makes it possible to equip a quality construction to achieve the desired design effect.

Types

There are two variants of parapets: one-piece from natural stone and reinforced concrete slabs. They look great in tandem with metal grilles and allow you to create a unique design. It is worth remembering St. Petersburg with its parapets and embankments, with sculptures and sculptures known to the whole world. It is not necessary to say that whole parapet slabs, the sizes of which are very different and average 1000x500x40mm (DSW), have a greater durability in comparison with facing. Installation

Lashing loops are provided for the transportation and installation of slabs, they are located on the end of the products.

The installation is in the following stages:

  • Concrete mixture is applied;

  • Fill the joints.

Application

B / w products have a specially created form, due to which water flows down one side. In addition, there is a small groove on the bottom that forms a water flow.

Such materials are often used in panel structures, for example, when creating reinforced concrete ramps that require protection from debris and precipitation. There are variants with a ribbed plane, flat and ordinary plates.

Use in roofing works

A classic element of flat roofs, including the inversion type, is the roof parapet, and it is also possible to mount it on a pitched structure. Their functional significance lies in creating the required security for people who are on the roof. Also the parapet slab acts as a decorative element.

The upper part of the parapet is pitched and flat. There is the possibility of creating a custom-sized non-standard design. Fastening crutches are used for the installation of an apron of steel, in the attachment points, it must be processed with a silicone special sealant. When placing the parapet on concrete slabs, tight sealing of the existing joints and the junction block is required.

What you need to know

The increased degree of waterproofing is necessary for a place in which parapet plates, the sizes of which are selected individually, and the soft roof are connected. The roll covering for a roof with overlapping on a vertical plane and the subsequent water-repellent processing is fixed. When laying materials without using special supports under the roofing carpet, a cavity is formed under the mating surfaces.
