Proctosedil (suppositories): instructions for use

This drug is available in the form of rectal suppositories and ointments. The composition of the preparation "Proctosidil" (candles) is the following:

  • Sulfate of framicetin - 5 mg. Antibiotic. It also has a high bactericidal effect, acting on streptococci, Escherichia coli and a number of other microorganisms;
  • Hydrocortisone acetate - 2.79 mg. Has the effect of anti-inflammation, reduces itching;
  • Ethylaminobenzoate 5 mg. Local anesthetic;
  • Esculoside - 5 mg;
  • Butylaminobenzoate 5 mg.

Also, the capsule contains auxiliary substances, among which:

  • Soft white paraffin;
  • lanolin;
  • Liquid paraffin.

The capsule shell of the preparation consists of

  • Gelatin;
  • Glycerol;
  • Methylparaben;
  • Propylparaben;
  • Titanium dioxide;
  • Purified water.

Candles "Proctosedil" are soft capsules having the shape of a slightly elongated oval on one side. They have a yellowish color, they contain an oily mass of the same color. On sale they can be found packed in dark glass bottles containing 20 pieces of capsules.

To apply "Proctosedil" (suppositories) the instruction recommends twice a day: morning and evening, and after each bowel movement. The rectal capsule is inserted as deep as possible into the rectum. The effect of the reception is felt a few minutes after the introduction of the suppository. Duration of admission, as a rule, should not exceed a week period.

It is also necessary to familiarize yourself with possible side effects from taking the drug:

  • Allergic reactions;
  • A feeling of discomfort in the field of application, including itching, burning, dryness of the mucous membrane.

This drug should be stored at room temperature, but not more than 25 C, away from direct access of children. Shelf life is 2 years.
