Preparing for the carnival: the royal crown of paper

Children of kindergarten and primary school age are happy to participate in the festive morning performances. And they love to dress up in costumes of princesses and princes. One of the main details of the outfit is the crown.

Samples of the royal headdress

What should be your paper crown? Everything depends on personal fantasy and skill. The simplest version is classic, notched. It will be more interesting if the teeth are crowned with bumps, circles. The crown of paper in the form of a hoop and ornaments on the forehead looks different. It is worth remembering those headgear that made up the national dress of a Russian girl in the distant past. Choosing a style, it is worth thinking about the external design. First of all, golden or silvery paper will come to the rescue. In this case, the corona is made of cardboard paper and then it is glued. On a glossy background, glue beads, fragments of fir tree rain and confetti, laying out fittings with intricate patterns that imitate precious stones. If you have a taffeta, pieces of lurex or brocade, you can wrap them with a cardboard blank. Especially successful will be the one whose fabrics have their own patterns. In this case, you will have to expand them with beads, make pendants on the forehead and whiskey - and an ordinary corona made of paper will turn into a smart decoration of a fairy princess. Depending on the nature and type of the costume, a cloak is attached to it or she is put on a hat. And, finally, such a proposal. Find a flexible wire from which to make a suitable layout, then wrap it with a sparkling Christmas bob - thick, broad. Such a dress can be called universal, it is great for any suit.

The master himself

And now from theory to practice. Let's make a stencil of a crown from a paper of usual, classical type. Take a sheet of Whatman, a simple pencil, an eraser, scissors, a centimeter. Measure the diameter of the head. Divide by 2. On the paper, postpone 2 segments, equal in size to the halves of the size. Add another few centimeters to the ends - for sizing. Measure the width of the base of the crown and make another measurement - for height. Using triangles or a ruler, draw a denticle. Try to make them the same size. When one piece is ready, carefully cut it out. Attach the stencil to the second part of the corona preform from princess paper. Circle and cut. Connect the tailor's pins to halves and give it a try on the one for whom the dress is designed. Correct if something is wrong. When you make sure that the stencil is good, grab the cardboard, overlay the halves of the crown and create a "chalk". Finished parts can be glued or stapled together. But first, cover them with smart wrapping paper. To make the finished crown not press on the forehead, from the inside, glue a strip of batting or other soft tissue, folded into several layers. Then take up decorations. As a design, the use of pieces of artificial fur will be original . By them the base of the dress is framed from the outside. Thanks to this finish, the crown will acquire a truly regal look.

It's so easy to make the most important detail of the costume with your own hands.
