Polycarbonate greenhouse with own hands. Stages of construction

Most land owners own vegetables. To create the optimal climate and achieve high yields in the early periods, it is necessary to have a greenhouse. Such a structure in a collapsible version is offered for sale. But not everyone prefers to buy products in the store, so they build the building themselves. Fortunately, in our time there is an excellent material for such purposes - polycarbonate. The polycarbonate greenhouse with our own hands is a solvable one. It can grow vegetables all year round.

About the material - polycarbonate

Polycarbonate honeycomb is a modern material. Despite its "youth", it enjoys great popularity among consumers. Polycarbonate is a plastic material with very good technical characteristics:

  • High light conductivity;
  • Light weight and flexibility;
  • A wide range of possible temperature operating modes (from -50 to +120 degrees);
  • Good thermal insulation;
  • Protection against ultraviolet radiation;
  • Durability of the structure;
  • Simplicity of cutting material.

A greenhouse made of polycarbonate with your own hands is an advantageous option. First, less money is spent to purchase it. Secondly, there are significant advantages in relation to the greenhouse from a wooden frame covered with glass.

Manufacturing of greenhouses from polycarbonate

The construction process takes place in several stages:

1. Construction of the foundation. The simplest version of the construction of the base is a frame of timber. For this purpose, a material of 100 x 100 mm size is suitable. Preliminary, the tree should be covered with a protective layer of the "Penatex". Such a foundation will last at least five years. If desired, you can make the foundation stronger by using blocks of FBS. The most durable is the ribbon foundation. The process of its erection is the longest, but it's worth it. The quality and reliability of the tape-type foundation is the best option.

2. Manufacturing of a frame of a greenhouse. The polycarbonate greenhouse with its own hands is beneficial in that the structure can be made the right size, depending on the area of the land. When assembling the frame, provide an opening for the door and window. It is recommended to use a galvanized profile for the construction. The structure is fixed to the foundation with the help of special fasteners (self-tapping screws). For greater strength of the structure, it is expedient to provide "stiffeners". Cross lathing and longitudinal elements will give the construction a good stability.

When cutting the material, it is necessary to take into account the standard parameter of the panels in order to save costs. In addition, it is necessary to take into account such features as the thermal expansion of panels, the load of atmospheric precipitation, the radii from the bending of the arch type structure.

3. Installation of the heating system. The device of a greenhouse made of polycarbonate includes the presence of heaters. Heating devices are set based on the area of the glazing space, multiplied by the coefficient of thermal conductivity and the difference in temperature. The resulting result indicates the necessary heat demand in kilocalories (1 W = 0.86 Kcal / h). Heating devices should be placed evenly around the perimeter of the room.

4. Providing the right soil. An important factor for a good growth of vegetables is the soil. Its optimal composition is as follows: humus - three parts, sand - one part, turf - two parts. In addition, one bucket of the prepared mixture requires the addition of components: potassium sulfate, urea, superphosphate in amounts of one teaspoon of each substance. In order to obtain a good harvest, the soil in the greenhouse needs to be updated annually.

Installation of a greenhouse made of polycarbonate

Installation of the greenhouse is carried out using split or integral profiles. Sealing of the top profiles is provided by a self-adhesive aluminum tape. Perforated tape is used for the bottom of the panels. Both ends of the arches of the greenhouse are closed with a perforated belt, followed by closing the ends with a profile.

In order to ensure the withdrawal of condensate, the panel is placed so that the water drains out. For this, it is recommended to drill a few holes in the polycarbonate.

The material sheets must be inserted into the grooves of the profile and fixed to the frame with self-tapping screws with thermal washers. This method will avoid deterioration of the polycarbonate and close the access of cold air through the fixing holes.

In our time, a greenhouse made of polycarbonate own hands - the necessary construction on a country plot. The structure will help in providing the family with fresh vegetables, and therefore vitamins and trace elements.
