Let's make developing mats with our own hands for the little ones. To do this we need a thick fabric in two layers for the base, a sintepon or foam rubber for the laying, one plastic hoop, many multi-colored scraps, thermal applications and small soft toys.

First we sew the basis. For this we cut out the same details from the sintepon and the base fabric. We make a sandwich from them and sew, treating the edges in any way. You can sew details and turn them out so that the seam is inside or handle the edge with lace, oblique bake, stitching on the overlock. Visually divide into several parts our developing mat for children. With our hands or using a zigzag stitch, we sew various decorative elements in the form of animals, houses, machines, trees. To do this, cut the hoop into two semicircles. We sew each of them with fabric and make a synthon layer. At the ends of the arcs and in the middle we sew laces or ribbons. On the rug, we also sew the tapes in each corner. With their help, our arcs will be attached to the base. We fold the details from the hoop crosswise and tie the ribbons in the middle. Get the gate in the form of a cross. We put them on the mat and tie them in every corner. It should be sewn to the arcs of several rings or plastic hooks, on which we will hang different toys.

For toddlers, you can make developing mats yourself and hang them on the wall or door in the room. In this case, the decorative details will be supplemented with pockets, locks, laces, buttons and volume details, removed from the basis of the rug. We choose the main theme for making a rug. Such details of the house as windows and doors are made in separate details so that the baby can open them. Instead of a lock on the doors, make a button with a loop. Shutters on windows are closed with lacing. Clouds, flowers and the sun are individual details that are attached to the rug with Velcro. Arrange around the rug various animals and sew.
