Politician Viktor Medvedchuk: biography and interesting facts from life

Of course, Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk is one of the few political figures in Ukraine who are capable of provoking ambiguous feelings toward themselves. In recent years, he has not been actively involved in the political life of the country, but it is possible that he will return to it.

However, it was later found out that the verdict of the court was rendered unlawful, since the crime itself was absent.

One way or another, but the above circumstance did not prevent Viktor Vladimirovich from obtaining a diploma in law and practicing law.

In the early 90s of the last century he became the head of the Ukrainian Union of Lawyers and established the International Law Firm "BIM".

The Conquest of the Political Olympus

In 1997, Medvedchuk - already a people's choice. A year later he was appointed assistant to the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament. From that moment Medvedchuk Viktor Vladimirovich, whose photo appears regularly in the press, becomes a public man.

In early 2000, the politician begins to support the idea of holding a "velvet revolution" in the Verkhovna Rada. Such political views allowed him to achieve the post of first vice-speaker. However, in a new capacity, Viktor Vladimirovich worked only a year and a half, after which he lost his post. Political scientists considered this a form of revenge for pushing amendments to the Land Code.

In 2002, one of the Ukrainian journalists, Dmitry Ponamarchuk, made public the information contained in the audio materials, namely: the head of the Our Ukraine faction, Viktor Yushchenko, and the mayor of the capital, Alexander Omelchenko, discussed the details of Viktor Medvedchuk's resignation from the post of vice-speaker. One way or another, but the head of the SDPU (o) party in 2002 won the support of 6.2% of the voters in the parliamentary elections.

In the same year, well-known politician Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk becomes the head of the presidential administration. However, soon rumors spread that he could not hold out for a long time in the new status, but it was not to be justified.

When Medvedchuk was asked why he had so many political opponents, he replied: "I'm just working very hard, setting ambitious goals and objectives."

However, the moment came when Leonid Kuchma had to cede the presidential chair to his successor, and Medvedchuk also lost his post.

In 2006, the party of Viktor Vladimirovich won only one percent of the electorate in the parliamentary elections. At the same time, rumors arose that Medvedchuk could become a judge of the Constitutional Court of the country. However, they were not destined to come true again. One of the representatives of the Ukrainian Social Democrats said: "Medvedchuk never begged for posts, and Yanukovych, he will not do it."

Already in 2007, Viktor Vladimirovich dismissed the post of the head of the SDPU (o) faction. At the same time, according to the rating of one of the magazines Focus 200 in the list of the most influential people in Ukraine Medvedchuk was on the 48th place.

In the spring of next year, the head of the SPU, Alexander Moroz, said that Viktor Vladimirovich could take one of the posts in the Administration of the head of the Russian state. However, this information was not subsequently confirmed.

In 2008, Viktor Yushchenko said that Medvedchuk, along with supporters of Tymoshenko, was working on a draft of the new Basic Law of the country.

As Victor Vladimirovich admits, he is not a great hunter to exotic dishes, stopping the choice of ordinary food, such as, for example, eggs with lard or fried potatoes with sausages.

"I often buy sausage, which tastes like the former Odessa taste. A piece of loaf and sausage is my usual meal, which reminds me of my youth, "the politician says.

At the same time, one day representatives of Ukraine's political elite noticed that Medvedchuk had grown very thin. The difference between the figure of the politician "before and after" was so noticeable that in the media they began to write that Medvedchuk Viktor Vladimirovich was suffering from cancer. What happened in reality? Everything is very simple. The deputy simply decided to lose weight by sitting on a diet and taking up daily jogging.

Personal life

For this point, it would suffice to mention his beautiful wife Oksana Marchenko, who is known to everyone as a TV presenter.

However, Viktor Vladimirovich has always been in the center of female attention. His first wife was the daughter of a well-known Kiev lawyer - Marina Lebedeva. Medvedchuk has a daughter from a second marriage, which is called Irina. Currently she lives in Switzerland.
