Plasterboard ceiling: a design for living spaces

Ceilings of plasterboard in our time enjoy well-deserved popularity. First, they allow you to completely hide all the defects in the overlap. Secondly, do not take too much room height (no more than 10 - 15 cm) and, thirdly, are very inexpensive. These remarkable designs have one more important advantage: aesthetic appeal. The ceiling of plasterboard, the design of which can be unusually spectacular, usually becomes a real "highlight" of the interior of the room.

Types of ceiling structures

To date, in apartments and offices, there are basically two versions of plasterboard suspended ceilings: classical single-level and more spectacular levels. The first option is slightly cheaper, and it is most often seen in public buildings. The ceiling of plasterboard, the design of which involves the use of several levels, is usually installed in residential premises. Such a design is not only that looks very unusual and aesthetic in itself, it also makes possible the device of an unusually spectacular highlight.

Design Options

A design project for multi-level gypsum board ceilings can be performed using the following elements:

  1. Curved arc. On the edge are usually "let" point lights. Such an element is often asymmetric and fits well with furniture bends. Just great for interiors, designed in the Art Nouveau style.
  2. Curves of the wave. The edge can also be decorated with lamps, but their location does not necessarily have to repeat the bend of the niche. This is more "independent" decor. The ceiling made of plasterboard, the design of which is made in this manner, in itself serves to decorate the room.
  3. Use of "pockets" of small size. In this case, often used neon lights or LED strip. Such ceilings have a somewhat more "strict" appearance than the first two options.
  4. Ceiling with photo wallpapers that are glued in niches. The version with the starry sky looks very beautiful.
  5. Using geometric shapes. Practice is the use of rhombuses, triangles, ovals, etc. In this case, niches as well as boxes of the second level are executed.

Decorative decorations

The ceiling of plasterboard, the design of which can be completely different, is necessarily equipped with fixtures. Its design is strong enough and can easily withstand up to 10 kg of weight. Therefore, you can safely use any decorative elements. Very nice in combination with these ceilings look like baguettes and imitation of stucco molding. Often plasterboard ceilings are combined with tension glossy PVC structures. These options actually look amazing.

The design of suspended ceilings from plasterboard can also be developed using different colors. This material is easily colored. Of course, do not use too bright shades or screaming contrasts for living quarters.

Gypsum cardboard is a material that gives the designer just a huge field for creativity. If you want, you can design the design yourself. In our time, it is easy to find just countless examples of such finishes. If you are not confident in your abilities, you can always hire a specialist to develop a project. A similar service is now provided by many companies engaged in the installation of plasterboard structures.
